Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 14, and of particular note on the agenda is the annual update on the Communication Plan first adopted by Council in April 2014.  Since that time, we have made huge strides in sharing information with the community through FaceBook, Twitter, columns in the Pacifica Tribune, an updated website, and, of course, Connect with Pacifica.  We have taken other steps as well and I invite you to check out the full Plan.

The election results this week at every level, Federal, State, County and City, have been very impactful.  While we are still processing all of the implications and the final votes are being counted today by the County Elections Office, I can report that Measure N, the Pacifica Library Bond Measure, failed to pass—it received a majority of “yes” votes (53.62%) but not the supermajority of 66.67% needed to pass.  I’ll be talking with the City Council in coming months about future steps.  If you would like to view all election results directly, please visit the County’s website:  https://www.shapethefuture.org/

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and thank you for wanting to Connect with Pacifica!

Best,
LORIE TINFOW
City Manager

Weekend Forecast of Large Swells, High Tides May Result in Pier Closure
Pier Closed
City of Pacifica Public Works staff monitors conditions along the coast, and may close the Pacifica Pier, portions of Beach Blvd. or adjacent roads when conditions of large swells combined with high tides could pose a threat to public safety. Watch for updates on the City website or Facebook page. Enjoy the coast safely, and remember that extreme surf conditions can even occur on warm, sunny days.
