I would like to introduce our new City Manager Kevin Woodhouse. Kevin has worked in local government for 27 years. He was previously the Assistant General Manager - Visitor and Field Services for the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen Open Space). Prior to Midpen Open Space, he worked for the City of Mountain View as the Deputy City Manager. Kevin has a wide array of experience in areas such as budget development, finance, and human resources.  Kevin graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and then from San Francisco State University with a Masters of Public Administration. Kevin will start on October 9, 2017.

The North County Fire Authority is offering a FREE, DRIVE-THRU flu vaccine clinic on Saturday, October 7 from 10 am – 1 pm at Fre Station 94 at 444 Gellert Drive in Daly City. ( See the flyer for more information.)

Social Media 101 will be presented by the San Mateo Small Business Development Center (SMSBDC) on Thursday, October 12. This is the first in a new series of workshops presented by the SMSBDC. The workshop will be presented from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at U.S. Bank, 1655 Oceana Blvd. (See the Economic Development webpage for more information.)

  • Welcome City Manager Kevin Woodhouse to Pacifica - A reception will be held on Monday, October 9 at 6:15pm at City Council Chambers, 2212 Beach Blvd. prior to the regular City Council Meeting to welcome new City Manager Kevin Woodhouse. Light refreshments will be served. The public is welcome to attend.

  • Remember to Get Your Flu Vaccine - North County Fire Authority and San Mateo County Health System bring a FREE Drive-Thru Flu Vaccine Clinic to Fire Station 94 at 444 Gellert Drive, Daly City this Saturday, October 7 from 10:00am - 1:00pm for ages 6 months and older.   • Pacifica Is Turning 60! - November 22, 2017 will mark the 60th Anniversary of incorporation for the City of Pacifica. There are several events planned to commemorate and celebrate this milestone on November 18 and 19, 2017. Click here for more information. As part of the festivities, a City Open House will be held Saturday November 18, 2017 from 11:00am - 3:00pm at the Pacifica Community Center. City departments as well as Pacifica non-profits and local organizations will participate by hosting tables with information on their organizations.   • Business Seminar Series Offered in Pacifica October / November - Four FREE retail business seminars are being offered in Pacifica for merchants and anyone who may be interested in the topics. The Small Business Development Center is providing this free service in cooperation with the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce, the City of Pacifica and U.S. Bank. The seminars are funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and will be held at the U.S. Bank, 1655 Oceana Blvd., Pacifica. There is no cost, but registration is required. See the links to the flyers below for more information and registration details. New and existing businesses are encouraged to attend; participate in one or all of the seminars.   • Linda Mar Fire Station Open House on Saturday, October 14 Offers Demonstrations and Activities for All to Enjoy - Visit the Linda Mar Fire Station between 10:00am and 2:00pm to see firefighter demonstrations, specialized equipment and participate in activities for both kids and adults.   • How Can You Help Our Climate? - Pacifica has a Climate Action Plan that serves as a blueprint of the community’s response to challenges posed by climate change. Below are two upcoming events where you can learn about programs in which you may participate to help achieve Pacifica’s Climate Action Plan goals.
  • Owners of multifamily properties (5 or more attached units) can attend a free informational session to learn how your property can receive free energy-efficiency recommendations and rebates to pay for improvements. The session will occur at the San Mateo Public Library on October 10 at 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Please use this link to REGISTER or obtain more information.

Attend the Bay Area SunShares Workshop on October 17 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the San Mateo Public Library to learn about a limited-time, group-buy program that helps Bay Area residents get discounted pricing on home solar arrays and electric vehicles.   • Pacifica Library Project - Share Your Thoughts in Our Online Survey - The City would like to hear community input on system strategy (consideration of a 1- or 2-library model to serve our community) and potential site options for a new library.
