Highlights: Youth Advisory Board Application Period, Pacifica's Proactive Approach to Active Shooter Incidents, Distracted Driver Awareness Month
Connect With Pacifica This Week

This week’s active shooter incident at YouTube in San Bruno is once again a reminder that these tragic events can happen anywhere and anytime. While our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their co-workers, friends, families, and the San Bruno community, I’m proud to report that Pacifica’s police officers were some of the first on scene and were able to swiftly and flawlessly react with San Bruno’s and other law enforcement agencies to control the incident. I’m even more proud that Pacifica PD recently has been proactively leading “Active Shooter Response” trainings for the Pacifica community. Being prepared is critical in so many aspects of life. Contact Captain Joe Spanheimer at spanheimerj@pacificapolice.org to get on the list for future trainings.
On the subject of preparing oneself in life, I’d like to highlight that the City is seeking applications for Youth Advisory Board (YAB) members, details here . Please encourage the high school-age Pacificans you know to consider this opportunity. The YAB is an active, fun, and educational group of young adults who plan and carry-out great events for the community, while learning about local government and building skills that will help them be successful in life.

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you  for wanting to  Connect with Pacifica !
