News You Can Use....Really!

Dear St. Aidan's,

It has been great to be back with you after Sabbatical for the past two weeks. As I'm getting settled, we are re-working our communications. The Friday email will now include brief information about Sunday worship and events coming up that week, with as little text as possible. It will serve as a reminder for things you probably already know about.

This newsletter, which has been coming out every other Monday, will shift to include a short reflection, and more in-depth information about events and opportunities coming up, and how to be involved. The timing may shift to better reflect our seasons, or events, or when we have a need to get information out. We'll try to make it News You Can Use, because the good Lord knows (and so do I!) that we all get enough stuff in our email inboxes that we *don't* use.

My hope is that you'll open this when you receive it, and do your part to see and understand (and share and volunteer and show up) for the events and ministries for our church. Our theme this Fall is DEEPER, reflecting our need to connect with God in worship and prayer, and serve and minister in our community, together. The best newsletter is a read newsletter!

We have such Good News to share in the world, and so many ways of sharing it. On Sundays, I see and hear such good community being built--visitors joining us at coffee hour, and engaging in conversation. Students showing up for church and asking about serving and acolyting. Pastor Monica and Deacon Cate deep in conversation and sometimes prayer.

The church is our steadfast anchor in an unsteady world. I am thankful to be in it with you.

Faithfully,

M. Mary Kate Rejouis+

P.S. The catchy phrase News You Can Use comes from my colleague, Fr. Keith Winton, in Omaha, Nebraska. Thanks Keith!

Everything happening at St. Aidan's is on our online calendar, including weekly events, Choir, Bible Studies, and more. Please EMAIL the office when you see a mistake or a missing event.

Volunteer to help with parking during football games

We need 4-6 volunteers every game day to help manage our parking lot. Please reach out to bal43rd@gmail.com to let him know what game you can volunteer for, and he'll get you all the information you need.

Every individual who volunteers for a game is giving the equivalent of thousands of dollars toward the St. Aidan’s operating budget. This is another way to pledge and to support your church. Check the church calendar for updated kickoff times, and we will keep you informed as the times are announced.

Sacred Ground Dialogue Circle Welcoming Participants (Diocesan Offering)

Specific Thursdays, September 10, through March 2027, 9:30-11:30 am, via Zoom.

A ministry of the Episcopal Church, Sacred Ground is a sensitive and prayerful resource that creates space for difficult yet respectful and transformative dialogue on race and racism. Participants are invited to walk back through history, peeling away the layers that have brought us to today, and reflect on family histories and stories, as well as important narratives that shape the collective American story. It holds as a guiding star the vision of a beloved community, where all people are honored, protected, and nurtured as beloved children of God. Total number of sessions: 13.

Facilitators: the Rev. Nancey Johnson Bookstein, St. Brigit, Frederick, and Abby Mooney, Holy Comforter, Broomfield.
