Website Strategies for Successful Fundraising with Cherie Kassinger
  • How do you attract new donors in today’s competitive environment? This session will explore how you can use your chapter website as a major avenue to reach donors and participants in your fundraisers. Best practices from chapters across the country will be highlighted focusing on topics such as event registration, fundraising via video storytelling and online auctions. There will also be an introduction to the new Donor Management component of Salesforce. Cherie, a member of Assistance League of San Antonio, developed her love of technology and its positive impact on life as an Intelligence Officer and instructor in the Central Intelligence Agency. She currently serves on the National Technology Committee and as the national webmaster, providing instruction and assistance to the chapters who are joining the national multisite. Her goal is for all chapters to have websites that are effective marketing tools designed to attract new members and donors.

To Infinity and Beyond! Discover Chapter Hub in a New Way with Nancy Friedel and Shay Davis
  • Chapter Hub is more than a system to pay dues. Learn exciting ways to interact with Chapter Hub, including how to build reports and dashboards so that you can easily see how your Key Performance Indicators rank with your chapter’s strategic plan. At the end of this session, you will have a data mining toolkit to help you uncover your chapter statistics. National Assistance League’s Vice President Technology, Nancy is a charter member of Assistance League of Southern Utah and had a 30-year career in information technology. Shay is Salesforce Administrator at National Assistance League, supporting Chapter Hub administrators and the national organization in implementation of technology solutions. She previously was Director of Operations at Veritas Prep, supporting business initiatives related to Salesforce, and was Professor of Education at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

  • Examine the vital role strategic planning plays in effective chapter management, providing a roadmap to guide decisions, behaviors and areas of focus so you can efficiently manage your volunteer and financial resources. A member of Assistance League of Kansas City, Ann strives to help chapters achieve success through strategic planning. She is especially interested in program outcomes measurement. 

Member Rights—Encouraging Member Involvement with Annette Anderson, Vice President Bylaws for National Assistance League
  • Annette will lead interactive table discussions on the rights of Assistance League members to be involved in decision-making and how this is unique in our nonprofit world. Questions such as what decision making authority is given to boards and committees, what protections are provided in the bylaws and when and how members give input will be addressed. Annette is a member of Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul. 

Marketing Your Chapter in Today’s Nonprofit Climate with Dawne Wright, Vice President Marketing Communications
  • In this interactive workshop, you will learn basic steps for effectively marketing your chapter, exploring how to position your work as a value-added community service and examining how to budget and develop a marketing strategy. Dawne is a member of the San Antonio chapter of Assistance League.

Demystifying Commercial Real Estate with Amy Johnson and Sarah Longwell
  • Is your chapter faced with making real estate decisions centered around the buying, selling, leasing, or maintenance of property? Amy, Vice President Finance for National Assistance League and Director of Finance for the West Coast division of a large convenience store company, and Sarah, who currently works in real estate at Circle K, will provide guidance in making fact-based decisions about commercial real estate. They invite you to explore with them ways to avoid costly unintentional or negative consequences. 

Information about Resale Shops at Your Fingertips moderated by Barbara Stevens. Presenters are Libby Blair, Jan Jackson, Ann Murdock, Jo-Anne Prendeville and Johnny N. Williams, all members of the National Resource Development Committee
  • This session will explore how our varied resale shops operate, including store hours, staffing schedules and innovative sales ideas. In this presentation, you will be introduced you to a new database available to you that provides information on all Assistance League shops.
