The IoW has Updated its Principles!
The IoW Principles were originally developed during the Aspen Institute Dialog Series on Water Data, and published in a 2017 report. In 2021, the IoW team and Advisory Board revised the principles to reflect lessons learned over the first 3 years of the project.
See what's Possible with Geoconnex
The NIEPS Water Policy Program developed River Runner with Linked Data to show how Geoconnex will make it easy to find water data. This tool builds on Sam Learner's River Runner for the USA, which lets users trace any river downstream, by adding points that provide access to data through Geoconnex landing pages.
New Data Story: PFAS Monitoring in NC
PFAS are a group of synthetic chemical compounds and emerging contaminants that have been found in water all over the country. IoW's new data story investigates monitoring efforts in NC and shows how better data management is the key to better policy decisions on PFAS in NC and across the country.
