President Woodrow Wilson and the Betrayal of the African-American Community

Though future President Wilson ran as a progressive candidate, and was supported early on by Black leaders like William Monroe Trotter and Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois, he surprised his supporters once in power. During his 1912 presidential campaign, he promised, "absolute fair dealing and for everything by which I could assist in advancing the interests of [African Americans] in the United States." Within a month after taking office, he steps towards segregating Federal Offices that had been working together for 50 years.

Virtual Trivia Night
Thursday, May 27, 8:00pm
Join us on Kahoot! and Zoom for virtual trivia! About half an hour before 8, you will be invited to a Zoom meeting via email so registration is required. At 8, we will give you the code to join the Kahoot! game. Click on the ticketing link to register. You will need two devices to participate. You will need Zoom to view the questions and Kahoot! to answer them. There will be 4 different rounds with 15 questions each.

Etsy Intro Parts 1 and 2

Part One: an introduction to Etsy for beginners in accessible language covering what Etsy is, how it differs from eBay and other online shopping sites, its policies, and how to sign up and get started with buying and selling.

Part Two: a second class which discusses more issues with selling products, how to get more business, and how to handle complaints among other things.

The Friends of the Hockessin Library's next donation collection will be May 8, 2021,
9am-12noon.

Due to the pandemic, the Friends are still not able to field our usual complement of sorters and packers. Therefore, we ask that you closely follow our book donation guidelines in order to reduce our need to handle and dispose of unsalable material.
