Dear friends,

What a unique and powerful time to be alive! It is a time of great change and radical transformation. I am feeling things shift in my own life, and in the life of our community. For me, this is a time of assessment, a time of growth, and a time when pursing the most primary forms of sweetness is crucial to my well-being. Soaking in the sunshine. Laughter with friends. Uninterrupted discourse with my children and grandchildren. Future-casting with my beloved husband. The past three months have brought many things to the surface.

As we enter the fourth month out of our building, I want to reiterate my concern for your health and safety. I have seen many announcements from other churches and spiritual communities in our area that intend to open in the next few weeks. That can make us feel pressured to do the same.

Currently, headlines in our country reflect growing concern about a resurgence of the virus that closed us in the first place. While Colorado's Covid numbers are lower than other states, we are far from being out of the proverbial woods. We must move very cautiously and make wise choices.

What I am trying to say is this: Please be patient. We are not letting the actions of others determine our decisions. You are too precious for us to risk your safety. We are taking every precaution, as we have all along, because we care — about our community, our staff, and our volunteers. We are blessed to be able to gather online and plan to continue doing so, at least until August. At that time, our board will once again evaluate our next steps.

This pandemic will end. Not today. Not tomorrow. But it will end. When it does, we want to have every member of our community join us in celebrating our return. Until we know we are all safe to do that — let us be strong, and patient, and allow faith to guide us. Thank you for your continued support and participation online.

A special meeting of membership was held on Wednesday, June 24th. After a preceding town hall meeting for discussion and a full hour of follow-up presentation and discussion, the membership in attendance voted unanimously to sell the Fillmore Center. Rest assured that we remain deeply committed to our children's program. We will keep you informed about the next steps as they develop. For now, please hold in mind that the exact right buyer is already on the way to us.
THIS SUNDAY we'll wrap up our June study series, Connected by Heart . What have we learned, how connected do we feel to each other and the world? How do we continue to deepen our connections during this time of physical separation? Join us this Sunday for a meaningful capstone conversation. We will open the meeting at 9:30, our affirmation circlet meditation will begin at 9:40, and our service will begin at 10am.

I look forward to sharing this sacred time with you!

Blessed be,
Rev. Ahriana
