SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

Join the New England PTTC for a Prevention in Action panel discussion exploring Drug Take Back Day events and related efforts to reduce the illicit use of prescription medications across New England. This webinar will include a spotlight on what coalitions around the region are doing to support drug take-back as well as a presentation from the DEA on their new and ongoing initiatives.

Celebrate Red Ribbon Week in your community or your child’s school, and raise awareness of living a drug free life. Take the opportunity to talk to your children or grandchildren about drugs.

2022 RED RIBBON WEEK CAMPUS VIDEO PSA CONTEST
As part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Red Ribbon Week campaign, DEA and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration cosponsor this Campus Video PSA Contest for colleges and universities to promote the importance of preventing alcohol and other drug misuse among college students.

ADHD AWARENESS MONTH

ADHD is a common brain condition in children. Nationwide, more than 1 in 10 kids ages 4 to 17 have been diagnosed with ADHD. Many will have all or some of their symptoms as adults too. While there’s no cure for ADHD, it can be treated and managed with medication and therapy. Read more

Is it cyberbullying? Watch the video to find out:
Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behavior. Download

OCD AWARENESS WEEK: OCTOBER 9-15

Although everyone worries or feels the need to double-check things on occasion, the symptoms associated with OCD are severe and persistent. These symptoms can cause distress and lead to behaviors that interfere with day-to-day activities. People with OCD may feel the urge to check things repeatedly or perform routines for more than an hour each day as a way of achieving temporary relief from anxiety. If OCD symptoms are not treated, these behaviors can disrupt work, school, and personal relationships and can cause feelings of distress. Read more.
