This documentary by filmmaker Jon Bunning focuses on the close-knit community formed by those brought together at The Tables, free outdoor ping pong tables in New York City's Bryant Park. The Tables attract people with vastly different backgrounds from across the city and around the world. These players of various ages and skill levels were strangers who became friends first, then family. Learn more.

A grandmother's Memorial Day mission
Maureen Faulkner feels it's crucial to teachthe next generation the true meaning of Memorial Day. So nearly two decades ago, she started a family tradition: a trip from their home in Idaho to Washington, D.C. This year's Memorial Day marked her 15th visit to D.C. Think Intergenerational - Funding Opportunities
Support for Local Archives in Marginalized Communities. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation's Scholarly Communications program has issued a call for proposals to community-based archives in the United States and its territories that represent and serve marginalized communities. Grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 will be provided to organizations with an annual operating budget of no more than $1 million. Deadline: July 1, 2019. Learn more.
The Brookdale Relatives As Parents Program (RAPP) 2019 Request for Proposals.
The Brookdale Foundation Group will selected up to 15 programs to receive a seed grant of $15,000 ($10,000 and $5,000 respectively) to expand supportive services to grandparents and other relatives raising children. Deadline: June 12, 2019. Learn more.
Grants to Increase Youth Participation in Your Community on Days of Service.
For the 2019-2020 program, Youth Service America (YSA) is offering grants of up to $9,000 funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and the Corporation for National and Community Service, depending on the number of youth volunteers engaged on two or three days of service. YSA collaborates with lead agencies to ask all young people to get involved. Deadline: June 14, 2019. Learn more.
National Volunteer Care Corps. The Administration for Community Living/Administration on Aging (ACL/AoA) is making this competitive grant opportunity available to eligible entities for the purpose of testing and supporting models of local programming designed to place volunteers in communities to assist family caregivers and/or assists older adults and individuals with disabilities in maintaining independence by providing non-medical care. Deadline: June 21, 2019. Learn more.
Grants for Projects in Aging. Proposals for direct service projects are considered from organizations based in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Wisconsin, or Florida. Advocacy, training, and research projects, all with national relevance, are considered from organizations located anywhere in the U.S. RRF offers an opportunity for applicants to submit a brief (1 - 3 pages) Letter of Inquiry (LOI) as part of its grantmaking process. The latest from Child Trends. Child Trends' analysis of FY 2017 data from the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) found that the share of children in foster care living with relatives is growing. They also show that the percentage of children living in a relative foster home at the end of the fiscal year varies widely across states.

Connecting Generations in Senior Housing: A Program Implementation Toolkit.
Generations United, in collaboration with LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMASS Boston and with funding from the Retirement Research Foundation, released an 82-page toolkit. The resource contains practical information and templates to help housing providers and leaders at other organizations to plan, develop, implement, evaluate and sustain intergenerational programs.

GRAND Resource: Help for Grandfamilies Impacted by Opioids and Other Substance Use.
This resource from Generations United provides tips, practical information and a list of additional resources covering five topic areas - Practicing Self-Care; Addressing Childhood Trauma; Preventing Harmful Drug Use by Children; Engaging with Birth Parents; and Talking with a Child about their Birth Parent.

Survey of Shared Site Intergenerational Programs. This resource from Generations United and The Ohio State University, with support from The Eisner Foundation, contributes to the goal of establishing a new national baseline of shared site intergenerational programs. The study results were incorporated into All In Together: Creating Places Where Young and Old Thrive, a report issued by Generations United and The Eisner Foundation. Learn more about the survey.
