Independent Means We Work for YOU!
We LOVE what we do at RSS Insurance! We love that we are TOTALLY different from almost ALL of the other insurance agencies out there.  We come across many people who are completely unfamiliar with the term and concept of an independent insurance agency. They want to know which insurance company we represent.  Are we Farmers? State Farm? Geico?  We always answer with a big, resounding NO!  We represent over 60 insurance carriers!  We offer so much more and in our opinion, what we provide is so much better than any of the direct agents out there.  We'd like to explain to you the differences between independent agencies (like RSS) and direct writer agencies and why we think we have so much more to offer our clients. CLICK HERE to read about what makes us so different!

In a nutshell, as an independent agent we get to do what we love...helping our clients protect what matters most to them by offering numerous options and coverages! To us, independent means we work for you! We know we would never want to be limited by being able to offer only one insurance coverage and price option.  So we ask you, "Why would YOU ever want to be offered only one option when shopping for insurance?"
Agent Spotlight: Ana DeLara
We'd like you to introduce you to another one of our
fabulous agents this month! Ana joined the RSS team in September of 2013. She began her career at our office as a personal lines CSR (customer service representative), transitioned into a commercial lines CSR, and then decided about a year ago that she would like to become a full-time insurance agent. Ana truly enjoys the relational side of the insurance industry and wanted more opportunities to work one on one with her clients, advising and helping them find insurance to fit their needs.

Ana is not only licensed in property, casualty, life and health insurance, but she also speaks fluent Spanish. She is our in-house translator and a huge asset to RSS! Over the last year she has also begun specializing in several different industries such as mobile food vendors and specialized contractors.

She moved to Colorado in 1994 from California and graduated from Kaplan College in 2008 with an Associates degree in Paralegal studies. Ana is extremely passionate about family and is married with five children, two stepchildren, five grandkids and two boxer dogs. She says when she's not at RSS all of her time and energy goes towards her family. She loves going on dates with her husband and watching her kids play sports. If you get a chance, give Ana a call or stop by RSS and say hi! She'd love to meet you!

memorial_day2.jpg Memorial Day Thank You

We would like to thank all of the brave men and women who have given their lives fighting for our great country. We thank them for our freedom. Take time this month to thank a veteran or military service member for their service to our country. "America, home of the free because of the brave."

Severe Storm Season is Here
Do You Know How to Check Your Property for Storm Damage?
If you've lived in Colorado very long you know how violent many of our wind, hail and thunderstorms can be. Within a moments notice, rumbling thunder turns into damaging winds, destructive hail and flooding gutters and roadways. When one of these storms hit your neighborhood or business, you most likely hunker down inside relying on your home or property to protect you, your family, or your employees and coworkers.
Once that storm passes we typically step outside to determine if and how badly our property has been damaged. But do you really know how to assess the damage to your home or your business property? Please read about the four major things that our agency recommends you check after a storm to determine if you have damage or may need to turn in a claim.
What You Need to Know About Water Backup
Water backup: What's covered, what's not
Water backup is one of the most common causes of loss for homeowners, but also one of the most misunderstood.  While most people understand and know that flooding caused by mother nature and outside weather forces is not covered by their homeowners insurance (for this type of water damage a flood policy must be in place for insurance coverage), most are not certain about what water damage caused by water backup and overflow is covered by their homeowners insurance policy.

We've provided several helpful, real-life examples of water damage caused by backup and overflow on our RSS blog to help demonstrate what is and is not covered by most homeowners insurance policies. If you have any questions at all, or would like one of our agents or trained insurance team to review your homeowners policy with you to verify that you have the proper or extended coverages, please contact our office. As always, we are more than happy to help advise you!
We had a great time supporting Jefferson Center for Mental Health at their annual benefit gala. They are doing great things to support our community!
One of our customers stopped into our office and brought Elisabeth these beautiful tulips to show their appreciation
for her help.
We love lunch buffets after RSS team meetings! Yum! This time we had CafĂ© Rio.
