Connecting at ELC
for Easter, 2021
Greetings from Pastor Mark
Resurrection People,

Greetings to all “Resurrection People!” Through the years Christians have been described by the title, “Resurrection People,” for several important reasons. The message of the Christian Faith is Christ Crucified and Christ Resurrected. Holy Baptism connects us with the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus and by daily repentance and contrition the old nature is buried as the new nature rises in the newness of life. The power for daily living is there for us as the Resurrected Lord lives His life through us. Finally, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead will raise our mortal bodies in the “Resurrection of the Body” upon our Lord’s return. For these reasons and others, we are a “Resurrection People!”

Resurrection of Our Lord Sunday will be here in just a few days as we gather with our fellow “Resurrection People” this Sunday, April 4 for the 7:30, 9:15, or 11:00am services. To prepare for the message read the Gospel lesson appointed for this Sunday from John 20:1-18. The message, “Being with Jesus at the Empty Tomb,” will focus on John 20:16-18. We encourage anyone who has not registered to sign up for the 7:30am Classic Grace Service that still has openings for attendance. We remind everyone to go to the Emmanuel website for livestream online service at 7:15am for the extended Easter Sunrise Organ Prelude to start your day on Resurrection of Our Lord Sunday. We also remind anyone who is unable to attend in person to join in the Drive Through Easter Holy Communion scheduled after each service for 15 minutes from 8:45am – 9:00am, 10:30am – 10:45am, and 12:15-12:30pm.

God’s Richest Blessings on our Worship Together this Resurrection of Our Lord Sunday,
Pastor Mark

As Pastor Mark mentioned in his welcome message above, we have three services on Easter Sunday, April 4: 7:30am, 9:15am, and 11am.

Based on reservations received to date for the 9:15am and 11:00am service, those services have reached capacity. If you have not yet submitted a reservation, please plan to attend the 7:30am service.

Connection Question:
Do They Know?

The days following Easter are a great time to ask ourselves this question: "Do my neighbors/friends/ coworkers know that I am a Christian?"
  • If not, why not?
  • If I am unsure, how can I be sure?
  • If yes, where can I be partnering with God to help someone take steps closer to Him?

Jesus' Resurrection changes life for us and for our neighbors! Spirit of the risen Christ, guide my words and actions to bring Your grace and truth to those around me. In His Saving Name, Amen.

Lutherans for Life "Life Quote"
for 4/4/2021:

“As we gather this Easter just with our household, or perhaps all alone, we will undoubtedly miss some of the traditions that we have embraced over the years. Do not lament the loss of what does not last. Rather, embrace the enduring message that ‘He is risen! He is risen indeed!’ It changes everything!” -- Rev. Robert Fleischmann, Christian Life Resources
