Congregant organized and led gatherings.
Stitch, Craft & Kvetch
Cheryl Bemel and Susan Scofield are gauging interest in a Stitch, Craft, & Kvetch MZ Small group! Stitch, Craft & Kvetch will build community around needlework and small crafting activities and friendship! Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, do needlepoint, or enjoy other small crafts that keep your hands busy and your heart full, we’d love for you to join us. This group would meet monthly rotating among members’ homes on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm, giving you dedicated time to work on your favorite craft without distractions while connecting with others. Shabbat Hagadol, April 11-12
The Shabbat before Passover is known as Shabbat HaGadol, the Great Sabbath, as we prepare to celebrate the miracle of freedom. This year, Passover begins just as Shabbat HaGadol ends. The Mount Zion kitchen will have been thoroughly cleaned in preparation for the holiday earlier in the week, and it is customary to refrain from both chametz and matzah on the day of the Seder. Therefore, on Shabbat HaGadol (April 12) we will not have our customary potluck bagel lunch at services and Tot Shabbat; instead we will provide a light fruit and cheese kiddush. On Friday night, April 11, we will have non-chametz treats to enjoy at Oneg.
We look forward to celebrating together as we prepare for the joyous holiday of Passover.
Chag Sameach in advance!

MZ's Tzedek Committee Launches the
Welcome the Stranger Initiative
Please help address urgent needs in our immigrant communities.
We are collecting new and gently used items (i.e. good as new), mostly bathroom and bedroom essentials, as well as gift cards and donations for immigrant families. Check out the list of the most needed items. For questions, please contact Chris Rosenthal. Gift cards are also greatly appreciated. When purchasing a gift card please keep in mind that the store should sell necessities and be accessible via public transportation. All items or gift cards can either be dropped off or shipped directly to MZ.
We are also accepting financial donations. Donations received will be earmarked for the “Welcome the Stranger“ initiative.
If you have other questions, please contact Mark Joffe. The Tzedek Committee thanks you for your support and generosity.

World Zionist Congress election!
-
Learn more (if you wish) by watching Mount Zion's Program - What is the World Zionist Congress?
-
Vote! @ zionistelection.com. (For Jews over 18 years old. There is a $5 admin charge to cover costs of the election. Be patient with a two-step process for registering and voting.)
-
Why? If we don’t, right-wing groups will gain control of the over $1 billion in funding and influence policies against democracy, pluralism, and justice in Israel. There are 21 slates including “Vote Reform”; Rabbi Spilker is on this slate.
-
Let us know if you voted! We are trying to get 450 people to vote. Email Rabbi Spilker aspilker@mzion.org or Gabby Helf ghelf@mzion.org to simply say, “I voted!”
