Beware of Email and Text Scams
In the past, we have given tips about watching for email scams of people pretending to be our clergy or staff. Please also watch out for people texting and impersonating someone from Mount Zion. Our staff will never text you asking for money/gift cards sent directly to them. As a reminder of things to look out for:
- Grammar and spelling errors or odd greeting or salutations.
- The message creates a sense of urgency to get you to act quickly, while also saying to only reply to the email or text and not call.
- If you are in any doubt, don't open attachments or click on any links. Please reach out to the staff they are impersonating directly if you have any doubts.
- Email address other than an mzion.org domain. Don't rely on the display name saying it is from "Rabbi Spilker" or "Rabbi Adler."

In the Community
- The Jewish community, and all who wish to join, are invited to participate in a photography exhibit through the Minnesota JCC, "Healing Nature: How Nature Helps Us Heal in Difficult Times", to mark one year since October 7, 2023. As photographs are submitted, they will be installed in galleries to create a larger message that will be revealed to the community over time. This evolving exhibit, spanning six weeks, will provide a space for reflection, processing, and healing, inviting our community to explore how nature nurtures recovery. Learn more or submit photos here.
