Mount Zion Temple loses its last Holocaust survivor, Erwin Farkas |
Erwin Farkas, the last Holocaust survivor of Mount Zion Temple in St. Paul, has died. He was 94 years old. Erwin Farkas was only 15 years old when he lied to Nazi guards at the Birkenau concentration camp, which effectively saved his life.

Luminary Havdalah
February 3, 7:00 pm at Levin Park
Luminary Havdalah is a free community-wide gathering outdoors at Levin Park, just east of Lake of the Isles on the evening of Luminary Loppet festival. Jews and friends from around the Twin Cities are invited to come together to sing, celebrate, and bring some light into this special winter’s night. After an elaborate musical Havdalah ceremony, participants can saunter over to Lake of the Isles to enjoy the Loppet (**separate admission required**).
