There will be several emails over the next couple of days about Shabbat services, upcoming activities, and more. This email is about the need for donations and volunteers in our broader community.
Supporting our congregants in need:

Please care for yourself first and foremost and be forgiving of what you cannot do at this time. Then think about your family and friends. Reach out to fellow congregants by phone. If you know of anyone in need in our congregation, please be in touch with our clergy and Shai Avny who is coordinating our Caring Community team. Many have offered to help congregants in need. We have a wonderful congregation! If you would like to add your name to the list of volunteers for offering groceries and meals, let Shai know.

We also need to think about our broader community.

Donations:

  • This is “March Against Hunger” and our financial support for the local food shelf is needed more than ever. Please give directly here or through our website and choose “Mitzvah Food Shelf.”

  • Also, we have learned that Project HOME (the emergency family shelter we house every June) could not get enough volunteers. They have now had to hire staff and move guests to their Day Center to shelter in place. Please consider making a donation today.

Volunteer: If you are not in an at-risk demographic nor in proximity with someone who is, please consider volunteering.

  • Your help is needed with Neighborhood House’s food support program. Go to their website for shifts: neighb.org/volunteer.

  • Your help is needed with Project HOME. Please contact Wade Piper.

Todah rabah! Thank you!
