Connecting with nature.

With the days growing longer as we approach the summer solstice, the draw toward the outdoors becomes an increasingly irresistible force. Inviting breezes, sunny skies and outdoor activities provides exciting opportunities to reconnect in nature and within our community.

At Beyond, we now offer you more possibilities for connection with our expanding outdoor yoga class schedule which begins Monday, June 14th. Yoga in nature, whether in our outdoor classes, or in your own space during our live virtual classes, provides us with nourishing cues from the environment to find our ground, recharge our inner light, and open our hearts to whatever possibilities may arrive on the next summer breeze.

We are excited to move into this next phase of re-opening, and encourage everyone to make the most of this beautiful time of year. We invite you to take part in our Yoga in Nature contest and share some of the ways you are taking your yoga practice outside over the next month. 

We hope to see you outside soon, so we can continue Shining Brighter Together into Summer.

Return of Outdoor In-person Yoga!
As we await more information about timing of the return to in-studio classes, we are excited to announce the start of Beyond's outdoor yoga!

Beginning Monday, June 14th on the lawns near the studio, we will host four outdoor yoga classes each week, as long as the weather is cooperating of course. Class registration will open 7 days prior and will be limited to 10 participants per class per the government's Stage 1 re-opening guidelines. Classes are available with your Beyond Benefits Membership or class passes. In event of class cancellations due to weather, participants will be emailed at least 1 hour prior to scheduled class start time.

Keep in mind, the studio will not be open for access to props, washrooms or water refills so please bring with you all that you will require for your practice. And, with intention to 'leave no trace', we ask that you take all belongings with you when you leave.

Enjoying your practice from your own space? Not a worry! We will continue to offer a robust virtual class schedule.

Gentle Taoist Yoga Flow
Join Glenda for a harmonizing practice that blends the traditions of Indian Hatha yoga with Chinese Taoist energetics.
Classes will rotate through yoga flows including but not limited to: the Golden Seed, Tibetan Sun Salutations, the 10 Mindful Movements, Dancing Warrior, the Hero Advances & Retreats, and the Dragon Dance.

Free Virtual Beyond Mini-Session: Summer Solstice Celebration
Join Su for a mini-session to celebrate the summer solstice on Monday, June 21st.
This class will honor the transition into summertime with an exploration of sun salutations in a practice designed to ease you into the season.

We are excited to welcome Michael Fahey to the Beyond Team! 

Join Michael for a preview of his upcoming outdoor qigong 4-week series to learn more about this holistic system of self-healing exercise.

Free Beyond Mini-Session: Self Massage & Yin Yoga
Combining myofascial release and yin yoga, Suzanne will lead you through self-massage techniques to roll out tense areas in your body. Follow this release with yin yoga poses targeting the connective tissues, increasing range of motion. This combo will leave you feeling open and relaxed as you learn to surrender habitual patterns, and enjoying the peace that comes from quieting the mind.

4-week Outdoor Series: Introduction to Qigong on the Beyond Lawn
Qigong, often referred to as Chinese Yoga, has many many different forms just like Yoga. Join Michael for this introductory practice called “Sheng Zhen” which means unconditional love.

This style is movement and non-movement combined, internal and external combined and physical as well as spiritual. It is a moving meditation and a truly mindful practice.

Beyond School of Yoga
Yin Level II

with Brian Moore
Building on the principles established in the Yin Level I foundation training, this training is a deep dive into the subtle energy anatomy, combining Tantra and Ayurveda. Together we will learn to properly layer the meditation, subtle energy practice, pranayama, mantra, and the physical practice, weaving the tapestry that facilitates transformation in our own lives, and the lives of others.
