Cross-Divisional Storytelling in Spanish
Cross-divisional teaching and learning are important parts of the Cathedral tradition, as was beautifully demonstrated when 8th graders told stories in Spanish to the 1st graders last month. The 8th graders wrote and illustrated their own versions of  Caperucita roja  ( Little Red Riding Hood ),  Los tres cerditos  ( The Three Little Pigs ), and  Ricitas de oro y los tres osos  ( Goldilocks and the Three Bears ). They invited the 1st graders to ask questions about the project and what it is like to be an Upper School Spanish student. This interaction provides 8th graders an opportunity for mentorship while fostering close ties across the school.
#JewishandProud and
#JewishandProudAlly Campaign
Core to Cathedral's mission is the fact that it welcomes students of all faiths. Two of the ways it honors religious diversity are by working in solidarity with communities of all faiths and serving as up-standers against all forms of discrimination and persecution.

Following the increase in antisemitic rhetoric and violence both locally and around the world, Upper School students participated in a day of solidarity with the Jewish community on January 6. The students attended a special assembly in which, "They learned about the historical creation and proliferation of antisemitic rhetoric, behavior, and policies, and then divided into small groups in which they discussed what they learned, what they believe, and how they can be allies of Jewish people," said Dr. Duncan. "It was a heart-expanding time for all." Throughout the day, students took pictures with the hashtags #JewishandProud and #JewishandProudAlly , a movement encouraged by Michael Curry, The Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, as coordinated by the  American Jewish Committee (AJC) .
