“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love…as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:8, 12
Grace. Mercy. Mercy is not getting what we deserve, and grace is getting what we don’t deserve!
How often have you heard “That’s not fair!” or “I deserve better than this!”? Well, life’s not fair, and we should be glad. That seems to be the perspective from which David writes Psalm 103. His first words are well known: “Bless the Lord, and all that is within me, bless His holy name!” He goes on to list the wonderful blessings he has received, though he did not deserve them: forgiveness for sins, healing from his afflictions, deliverance from his enemies. He knows that God grieves his sins, but in grace He covers them with His own righteousness.
If life were fair, we would get what we deserve. But thanks be to God, He sent Jesus. Though the forgiveness won for us on the cross is free, it was costly indeed. Truly God’s gift of grace!
Crucified and risen Lord, embrace me in grace today. Amen. (Read Psalm 103 and Eph. 2:8-10. Let the words sink in again!)

Commissioned Minister Information Form - It's Time to Update
Commissioned Ministers, now is a great time to remind you to update your Commissioned Minister Information Form (CMIF). We encourage you to treat your CMIF as an accurate professional resume and strongly recommend that you take the time necessary to access your form and make sure it is fully updated. Yes, the CMIF form is shared with Calling congregations if you indicate you would consider or are seeking a job change, but the primary reason for your CMIF is to create an accurate record of your professional service to Lutheran churches and schools. If you are not interested in a new position, you are able to indicate that on the form. You can update your CMIF on the Church Worker Update website – Once you access the site you will see a log-in box. If you have your log-in information that was sent to you from Rosters and Statistics, you can log-in there. If you don’t have that information, there are quick links available to request the information again or you can click the HELP tab and that will give you phone numbers to Rosters and Statistics in St. Louis. Please take some time over your Easter break to log-in and check it out!

Please share this information with anyone in your HR department, school, or church who prepares Call documents for Commissioned Ministers. The sign-in and password remain unchanged. Contact Ellen Pratt if you have any questions at or 949-854-3232 ext. 224.

CDC Revises Spacing Recommendations
CDC Says Schools Can Now Space Students Three Feet Apart, Rather Than Six
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its guidance for schools. On Friday, the agency announced it "now recommends that, with universal masking, students should maintain a distance of at least three feet in classroom settings.” Previously the guidance stated, "Physical distancing (at least six feet) should be maximized to the greatest extent possible." The new guidelines still call for six feet of distance between adults and students, as well as in common areas, such as auditoriums, and when masks are off, such as while eating. Click here for the article.
For information from the CDC on this revision, please click here.

Honoring Jubilarians in 2021
We are very excited for our Lutheran Educators Conference (LEC) in November 2021. The planning and hard work has already begun. We will be honoring two years of Jubilarians at LEC 2021. Jubilarians are those educators on your staff who have completed 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 50 years of service at the end of the 2019-2020 & 2020-2021 school years. If you filled out a form last year, please fill out a new form to assure that we have the correct information.
If you are an administrator, please identify those on your staff that will be Jubilarians, so that when the forms are sent out, they are able to be completed and sent in by the June 15 deadline. Click on the link to fill out the form: Jubilarian Form
God’s continued blessings on your ministry!
