"And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the Day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6

We’re experiencing graduation all around us, these days…preschool graduation, Kindergarten graduation, 8th grade graduation, high school, and university graduation! Such milestones in young people’s lives! Throughout our lives, we pass through various stages of spiritual development. Unfortunately, we do not always "graduate" to a higher level. We are sinful people, prone to miss opportunities for growth and Bible study, prone to follow our own desires instead of God's will, and even prone to backslide. Our prayer is that we never lose the desire to better know our heavenly Father and to understand His great love for us -- to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18). We pray that each new experience or trial may bring with it new revelations, insights, and understandings into the mysteries of the Gospel and draw us closer to our loving Father.

Hearts for Jesus - LeadaChild
We are still receiving contributions for LeadaChild! If your school hasn’t yet contributed and you have one or more chapels left, it isn’t too late! Also, if your church is hosting VBS in the months of June or July, see if a collection could be taken there as well! Teachers Helping Teachers is also still an option – maybe your staff could do an end-of-the-year $1 per year of service or $1 per student in their class. Any and all contributions will help!

Amount raised to date: $11,154.12. We will continue to accept contributions from schools through July and send our district contribution on the first of August. Remember – our district goal is $30,000 – how can your school be a part of reaching this goal?!

Making Jesus Real - A Course for Early Childhood Educators
**Although we shared this a couple of months ago, we wanted to share it again since you may possibly be hiring summer camp teachers/aides and new teachers for next school year.**

The PSD Early Childhood Cabinet is excited to share Making Jesus Real with you. This course is a modified version of the Early Childhood Curriculum for Lutheran teachers, which grew out of needs expressed by congregations of the Pacific Southwest District to inform and acculturate early childhood teachers with answers to the following questions: What is a Lutheran school, specifically, early childhood center? How are Lutheran schools unique? What do Lutherans believe? What is the heritage of the Lutheran schools? What are the characteristics of the Lutheran teacher?

With the goal of training and equipping early childhood educators for careers in Lutheran early childhood centers, this course focuses on the following critical areas:
1) Lutheran thought and teaching (theology)
2) Nurturing the faith (faith development)
3) A distinctively Lutheran education (history of Lutheran education)
4) Methods and materials for teaching the faith to the young child

You will find FREE access to this course on our School Ministries website. Currently, Sessions 1 – 3 are available, and we are excited to share that Session 4 should be uploaded to the website in early June. We pray that this new version will be beneficial in a way that is accessible, attractive, affordable, applicable, and authentic.
LCMS International Mission -
Missions Unpacked for Kids
From LCMS International Mission:

This summer, LCMS International Mission will be hosting Missions Unpacked for Kids. Please share the following opportunity for kids to learn about God’s mission around the world. We’re excited to have this opportunity to help kids get to know LCMS missionaries and see how they can share the love of Jesus in their community.

Missions Unpacked for Kids: Expand kids’ worldview this summer with an interesting, age-appropriate introduction to LCMS International Mission. This series of five video-based sessions is designed for 1st through 6th grade students, and can be adapted for younger children as well. These 45–60 minute sessions will introduce kids to the people and places of LCMS International Mission, showing them how God uses missionaries in diverse places to add to His family. Learn more and register here.
