Fall Protection and Speaking the Same Language
Fall protection and hazard awareness go hand-in-hand. And taking care of our people is a top goal for NTMWD. Understanding potential hazards allows us to make informed decisions about access to a work area, the tools and equipment needed, personnel, training, job duration, budget considerations, and more.

A Conversation With...
One of the top reasons people love working at NTMWD is the people they work with on a daily basis.

NTMWD employs so many great people - we want you to get to know them even if they aren't in your department.

This month A Conversation With... features Bobby Sims.
Eye Health and Safety Month
As children and young adults, we probably didn't think about our vision deteriorating. However, those things we did as children could have an effect on how and what we see today. There are all kinds of hazards children are exposed to that can affect their sight as they age: general eye injuries, UV exposure, chemical exposures, fireworks, sports, diet, diabetes, and many other potential dangers.

Well OnTarget Health Risk Assessment

  • Go Online.
  • Register yourself on BCBS using the information from your ID card OR login to BCBS.
  • Go to Well OnTarget.

Having Problems Registering?
Here are some instructions to help if you or your spouse have had a BCBS account previously.
Coordination of Benefits Letter
Employees enrolled in our medical insurance may receive a letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield requesting information about other medical coverage. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas provides coordination of benefits when a plan member is covered by more than one health insurance plan. Please complete their questionnaire and return your information in the enclosed envelope or you can go online and complete when you log into BCBS. Please call the customer service phone number (800-521-2227) located on the back of your Blue Cross and Blue Shield identification card if you have other questions.
Take Advantage of your Benefits Value Advisor
Need help with appointment scheduling and pre-authorization?

So many choices! Where do I start? Who can I call for help? Call a Benefits Value Advisor (BVA). The BVA may give you options for your situation, and share reasonable costs information, so you don't have to waste your time searching.

Here's what a BVA can do:
  • Help you understand your benefits
  • Schedule a doctor or procedure appointment
  • Assist with pre-authorization
  • Give you a cost estimate for certain health care services or procedures.
  • Help you get general health information about conditions.
  • Tell you about online educational tools.
Learn more about how a BVA can help you.

  • Call the number on the back of your ID card (800-521-2227) to talk with a BVA today.
  • Connect with a BVA through the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas app (Android or iOS) and tap 'Live Chat.'
NTMWD Safety Coordinator David Leonard has completed the Federal Emergency Management Administration National Emergency Management Institute Basic Academy. The goal of the Basic Academy is to support the careers of emergency managers through a training experience combining knowledge of all fundamental systems, concepts, and practices of cutting-edge emergency management. The training is made up of five specific classes that focus on emergency management, planning, mitigation and response.

Congrats David!

Vacation Time Reminder
Remember that accrued vacation time rolled over from year to year can only equal 2.5 times your annual time off. For example, if you are allowed 80 hours of time off per year and you roll leftover time from year to year, you will be capped off at 200 hours (80 x 2.5 = 200). Anything over that amount will be lost if you don't use it in time. Please contact Shannon Sauceman in HR at 469-626-4377 if you have any questions or concerns.
We've Got New Employees!
Let's welcome these 7 new employees to the North Texas family. Make sure to take a minute to say hello, make them feel welcome, and help support their future and success at NTMWD.
