A mighty fortress is our God, A trusty shield and weapon;
He helps us free from every need
That hath us now overtaken.
The old evil foe
Now means deadly woe
Deep guile and great might
Are his dread arms in fight; On earth is not his equal.
(Verse 1 of A Mighty Fortress is Our God, Martin Luther)

"I cannot choose but adhere to the Word of God, which has possession of my conscience; nor can I possibly, nor will I even make any recantation, since it is neither safe nor honest to act contrary to conscience! Here I stand; I cannot do otherwise, so help me God! Amen." -Martin Luther

Happy Reformation Day!

Lutheran Educators Conference 2021
We thank God for the 835 educators registered to attend LEC from 64 different schools in the Pacific Southwest District and the California Nevada Hawaii District! We are so excited to welcome you to Palm Desert in just a few short weeks! Please continue to look at the LEC webpage

Have you watched the videos on our keynote presenters yet? If not, please take a look this week! We also encourage you to be in prayer for our speakers and the topics they are praying over and preparing to share.

We continue to add new information to the LEC website. Speaking of new information, we are excited to bring back Poster Sessions and Round Table Discussions. These will take place after lunch on Monday afternoon in two separate sessions. There is still is time for you to sign up to do a poster session, too! Click here for the Poster Session link for more details!

Here is more information on the Professional Development that will be provided to you:
Poster Sessions - Come walk through a gallery of poster sessions hosted by your fellow teachers. The topics could range from technology to favorite lesson plans to classroom activities. This is a great opportunity to talk one-on-one with someone who may already be doing something you would like to try in your classroom. Feel free to stop and talk or simply read what's on a poster. What a wonderful way to learn some tips and tricks!

Round Table Discussions - These collaborative sessions are not sit-and-listen presentations. Rather, a facilitator will be at the table/room to spark discussion among the attendees about a specific topic. Many of our presenters from our main sessions will be the facilitators. This will be a great opportunity to dive deeper into a topic and possibly makes some connections with others who are interested in specific areas or are dealing with some of the same challenges you are facing.

Some of the topics and groups hosting round table sessions:
Admissions Directors
Athletic Directors
Comfort Dogs
Critical Race Theory
Digital Citizenship
ECE/Preschool
LeadAChild
LGBTQ/Transgender
Lutheran School Retention
Making Jesus Real
Mental Health
Mindfulness from a Christian Lens
Overseas School Sponsorship
Resource Teachers

We have three spots to fill on our LEC Planning Committee. We request that you take a look at the ballot information on the five candidates who have agreed to serve if elected. Please prayerfully cast your vote by November 15th.  Click here for the ballot.
We Want Your Photos and Videos for LEC!
Thank you to the schools who are uploading their pictures into the Google folder to be used in the Thank You presentation at LEC. Please remember this is a thank you to all of the educators and administrators who continue to work tirelessly in our schools. While we love the pictures of the students – we want to see your teachers and administrators in action! We also want to remind you to please stick to the five picture limit. There is still time and room for every school to share pictures! Upload yours today!

During the LEC banquet on Monday evening, November 22, we will have a time of thanks and celebration honoring all of our educators for how willingly and selflessly you've worked these past 19 months and how hard you are continuing to work!

We are creating a tribute of photos and short videos to our educators (teachers, principals, directors, pastors, etc.) and we'd love for you to be a part of it!

A few important directions:
  • Please include your school's name AND city in the file name or create a new folder for your school.
  • Please submit no more than five photos per school. If multiple people are submitting from your school, please coordinate together.
  • If you are submitting a video, videos can be no longer than 15 seconds or we will not be able to use them.
  • Please submit all photos and videos by Monday, November 1.

Click here to add photos and/or videos. Thank you for your help in making this a special evening!
