Alzheimer Day was established to showcase aging and dementia research conducted throughout Northwestern and to bring this information to the community. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with community members and researchers over lunch and through the presentation of research posters.
We are now accepting sponsorship applications. Attendee registration opens on Monday, March 3. Space is limited, register early.

On December 10, 2024, the Northwestern University Music and Medicine Program celebrated their milestone 10th Musical Museum concert, a musical and social engagement event, aiming to create a secure and enriching environment for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease, related conditions, and their care partners. The event featured Dominika Zamara, renowned operatic vocalist, accompanied by Borna Bonakdarpour, pianist, cognitive neurologist, and director of the Music and Medicine Program.

Initial symptoms are sometimes attributed to anxiety or stress until the ongoing symptoms become disruptive enough to prompt further assessment by a specialist. Join the Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter for the the 3rd Annual Release the Silence Conference on Saturday, May 3 at New Life Covenant Southeast. This conference is designed to help our community navigate the Alzheimer's and dementia journey. It is geared towards caregivers, future caregivers, and healthcare professionals who are looking for resources and support in the Black and African American community.
During the conference, attendees will get to hear firsthand from experienced caregivers, learn about resources available to help with caring for a loved one, and have the opportunity to make connections with others for support. This event is free to attend and will include a continental breakfast and light lunch fair.

Anti-Amyloid Therapies for Alzheimer's Disease: Patient's and Families' Perceptions

| This study explores how patients and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease view new drug therapies designed to slow its progression. Researchers at Northwestern Neurobehavior and Memory Clinic are surveying participants after consultations with neurologists to understand their perceptions, concerns, and barriers to treatment.
