GaHIN’s GeorgiaConnX platform is once again connected to the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) as well as the Alzheimer’s and Birth Defects Registries. All services are provided at no cost to healthcare organizations and support the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH).
GRITS – The Georgia Immunization Registry was created to collect and maintain accurate, complete and current vaccination records to promote effective and cost-efficient disease prevention and control. With the connection to GaHIN, providers can access their patients’ GRITS information through the GeorgiaConnX portal or their EHR.
Alzheimer’s Registry – The Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Surveillance helps to support the over 130,000 Georgians of all ages who are estimated to have Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia (ADRD). Currently Grady Health and Phoebe Putney Health System are connected to the Alzheimer’s registry.
Birth Defects Registry – GaHIN provides automated reporting for the Birth Defects Registry. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is currently the only health system submitting data, but the Department of Public Health is eager to engage with other hospitals. A total of 97,000 submissions were made to the registry through GaHIN for the period of January-August 2023.
Using GaHIN’s reporting services for the registries, providers can eliminate manual data entry and reduce maintenance and monitoring efforts. Benefits include:
- Automated reporting process eliminates manual data entry
- Timely reporting without staff intervention
- Minimizes data entry transpositions
- Minimizes incomplete, inconsistent or inaccurate reporting
- Reduces monitoring and managing registry efforts
- Provides on-going training and support for your staff
- Assists DPH in their efforts to automate all health systems
- Reduces burden on DPH and your organization
