CONNECTIONS | MARCH 2022
From the Director | Minority Made Opportunities
During March we celebrated Women's History Month. We got an early start on our recognition of the contribution of women to the industry during our Minority Made Symposium featuring the entrepreneurial leadership of three trailblazing women-owned manufacturing firms that are clients of the Advanced Manufacturing Center - Baltimore. Ellington West, Sonavi Labs; Natalia Luis, MLuis Products; and Jamyla Bennu, Oyin Handmade, shared their experiences, challenges and successes in business.
We were also fortunate to hear from Miquel Estien, Acting National Director, Minority Business Development Agency; Ted Carter, Deputy Mayor, City of Baltimore; and Jaqie McWilliams, Commissioner Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Each of our guest speakers shared their insight and commitment to small and minority business growth and development.

Prior to speaking at the symposium our a few of our guest participated in an open house which featured an overview of the collaborative effort between Harbor Design and the MiHUB Cooperative an affiliate of the Mid-Atlantic MBDA AMC.

This issue, we feature the symposium in pictures.

Next month stay tuned, we will feature the MBDA Network of Advanced Manufacturing Centers located in Connecticut, Kentucky and Texas.
