URW Selects Duty Free Americas as Duty Free Operator at JFK New Terminal One

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), The New Terminal One, and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports selected Duty Free Americas (DFA) as the exclusive duty-free operator for John F. Kennedy International Airport’s New Terminal One, which will open in phases beginning in 2026 with completion in 2030. This privately funded, $9.5 billion all-international terminal will elevate the passenger experience with its duty-free shops that will be inspired by New York City’s skyline and landmarks, while featuring iconic global brands alongside local products.

ATL Airport’s Centennial Celebration

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) recently kicked off its centennial celebration with a special press conference and pep rally honoring 100 years of service, connection and community.


The event welcomed Atlanta’s former Mayors: Andrew Young, Bill Campbell, Shirley Franklin, Kasim Reed and Keisha Lance Bottoms, along with the city’s current Mayor, the Honorable Mayor Andre Dickens. The Mayors were joined by members of the City Council, ambassadors and key stakeholders who have all played a part in ATL’s journey. AMAC Board Chair Ricky Smith made his debut as the newly appointed ATL General Manager.


Centennial Ambassadors in attendance included Bert Weiss, Antwan "Big Boi" Patton, DC Young Fly, Jay "Jeezy" Jenkins, Jerry Clark, Kim Gravel, Rashan Ali Smith, Shanti Das and Zak Wallace.

What is Project LIFT? Project LIFT (Leaders Inspiring Future Talent) is a program of the AMAC Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing minorities and women pursuing careers in the aviation industry.


Who Can Participate? High school students are invited to explore pathways and careers in the aviation and aerospace industries. This interactive mentoring event will expose students to potential careers and educational paths that lead to success, and provide networking opportunities with professional mentors to further enhance students’ academic development.

FAA Accelerates Critical Technology Upgrade


The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is accelerating the modernization of a critical safety system that alerts pilots and flight planners about airspace changes. The FAA will deploy a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) service this year, ahead of schedule.
