AMAC Los Angeles Chapter x Asian Business Association New Year's Mixer | |

The Asian Business Association (ABA) and the AMAC LA teamed up with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to host a lively New Year’s Mixer at the Flight Path Museum at LAX. The event successfully brought together over 50 registrants, including small business owners and professionals, for an evening filled with networking and opportunities for growth.
Dennis Huang, Executive Director and CEO of ABA, kicked off the event with a warm welcome, setting the tone for an evening of insightful discussions and networking. Following this, Amber Meshack, LAWA’s Director of Business, Jobs, and Social Responsibility (BJSR), delivered a compelling presentation that provided attendees with an overview of LAX operations, its significant economic impact, and upcoming business opportunities at LAWA. Attendees were also given valuable resources to help them take their next steps towards aviation opportunities.
Guests enjoyed delicious catering by Lady Luck Gourmet, a woman-owned business founded by AMAC LA member, Iva Chen. As an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE), Lady Luck Gourmet showcases Iva Chen's extensive experience in airport foodservice and aviation-related business operations.
The ABA, AMAC LA, and LAWA extend their heartfelt gratitude to all attendees and partners who contributed to the success of this event.

Louis Armstrong Airport Unveils New Brand | |

The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) unveiled its new brand identity. The new brand was developed through thoughtful community engagement, collaborative workshops and a design process that married modernity with tradition. The end result is a dynamic new identity that reflects the spirit of New Orleans and the surrounding region, as well as the airport’s role as a global gateway.
The updated symbol, a Fleur de Lis, is clean and streamlined with lines suggesting a plane taking flight—a celebration of movement, progress and connection. With origins that span cultures and continents, the Fleur de Lis has historically symbolized beauty, nobility, strength and rebirth—all attributes that align with New Orleans’ cultural identity and the airport’s role as a gateway to possibility.
The new color palette incorporates elements inspired by architecture, nature and food—key aspects of New Orleans’ identity that resonate with the public.

Areas Captures $300 Million Food & Beverage Contract at Orlando International Airport | |
Areas has won a tender to operate six new food & beverage venues at Orlando International Airport. The global travel restaurateur estimates the outlets secured worth more than $300 million over the ten-year contract duration. The company said it would invest over US$10 million in developing a combination of proprietary and local F&B brands of over 900 sq m. The outlets are scheduled to open by 2026. | |

Fraport USA Inc. announced that Fraport Baltimore Partnership LLC has been awarded a 23-year contract by the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) to redevelop, renovate, lease and manage the retail, restaurant, and commercial services at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). | |
Hudson Will Grow Its Footprint by Nearly 9,000 Square Feet at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield under Newly Signed Contract | |
Hudson announced that Omaha Airport Authority awarded Hudson a new contract to expand its presence at Eppley Airfield (OMA) significantly. Beginning in 2027, Hudson, a travel experience leader with more than 1,000 stores in airports, commuter hubs, landmarks, and tourist destinations across North America, will open nine new retail stores and food and beverage outlets across nearly 13,900 ft2 of the airport’s new terminal ― significantly growing its presence at the airport by nearly 9,000 ft2. | |
