| | Town of Apple Valley to Serve as Key High-Speed Passenger Rail Connection Point for High Desert | | |
Brightline West’s high-speed passenger rail line between Las Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga will make a key stop in the Town of Apple Valley–providing High Desert communities connectivity between these two connection points and beyond.
The Apple Valley “Victor Valley” Station is planned to be built at Dale Evans Parkway and the I-15. It will serve as a transformative infrastructure project that will enhance connectivity and economic opportunities for the town and the broader Victor Valley region. As part of this development, Brightline West purchased 300 acres of land in the surrounding area, which aligns with their broader vision of transit-oriented development that may include commercial and residential development opportunities similar to what is occurring at Cucamonga Station in the HART District.
To learn more about this Station and economic development opportunities in the area, contact Orlando Acevedo, Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Apple Valley at oacevedo@applevalley.org or visit the Apple Valley station page for more information.
| | SBCTA Celebrates Completion of Pedestrian and Bike Safety Improvements in the Region | | SBCTA board members, dignitaries, city and agency staff, and community members from Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Montclair, San Bernardino and Upland celebrated the completion of the Active Transportation Program. | | |
Recently, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) held a completion celebration for its Active Transportation Program (ATP) Phase 2 that makes it easier and safer for people to walk and bike around the county.
The celebration event took place in Rancho Cucamonga, near the recently completed 6th Street Cycle Track. This cycle track is within the HART District and runs along 6th Street from Haven Avenue to Rochester Avenue.
The ATP included projects in Fontana, Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino, Upland, and throughout the county to improve paths and access to transit. Project elements included sidewalks, curb access ramps, wayfinding signs, crosswalks, bike lanes, and a raised Class IV protected cycle track.
The program was made possible through federal, state, and city funding. With these improvements in place, local residents can enjoy safer, more reliable ways to move around, making biking and walking an even better choice for getting where they need to go.
The overall Active Transportation Program was recently highlighted in SBCTA’s Today video update.

Ontario International Airport (ONT) is taking off into a busy summer travel season, with more travelers, more flights, and more options than ever. Through April, ONT has seen passenger counts go up for 50 consecutive months and expects 2.2 million travelers to pass through the airport from June to August – a 1.7% increase compared with last summer.
Demand at ONT is driving the introduction of new flight routes, restoring services that had previously been suspended, and increasing the frequency of flights to popular domestic and international destinations – further affirming ONT’s commitment to meeting passengers’ needs. During the first four months of 2025, ONT welcomed more than 2 million air travelers, which is .5% higher than the same period in 2024.
