Fusion News

Fusion is happening! But our format will be different this year. Students will go straight to the Sanctuary for our 9:00 am Contemporary service, where we will join our families and the rest of the church in worship. After the second song, an announcement will be made inviting all students in grades 7-12 to go to the Worship & Youth Center for Fusion, where we will have donuts, coffee, hot chocolate, and a relevant message from God’s Word. See you on Sunday!

Recent worship statistics:

Thank you to all who worship with us in person and online.

Total attendance for September 18: 326

Total attendance includes online statistics. Online numbers represent the number of views

(or households), not the number of individuals watching.

Important Upcoming Meeting:

Church Conference

Saturday, October 22 @ 1:30 pm

We are excited to announce that, at the pastor's request, the District Superintendent has agreed to have a Church Conference this year, rather than a Charge Conference. This means that, according to the Discipline, all full members are invited to participate and vote on any necessary business (though anyone is welcome to attend).

Rather than have two separate meetings, we will combine the Church Conference with the previously announced All Church Meeting and will also review personnel changes, church finances, and the exciting things coming up in the future.

We hope you will join us for this important and informative meeting.

  • Sunday, October 2, 1:00-2:00 pm - Exploring membership class for all interested in membership
  • Sundays, October 9, 16, and 23, 1:00-2:00 pm - Additional classes for those who have not gone through a membership class in previous settings
  • Sunday, November 13 - Receive new members during worship

Please click here or scan the QR Code to let us know of your interest and provide us with info.

DUMC’s Student Ministries are in need of more volunteer youth leaders for Elevation, our Sunday evening youth group gathering. We meet from 6:00-7:30 pm starting on Sunday, September 25. Elevation consists of food, games, a teaching time, and small group discussions.

In the past, leaders have facilitated the games, facilitated small group discussions, and some have even taught lessons (this is not required, so don’t worry!).

We would obviously love to have leaders committed to being there every week we meet, but we understand how busy life can get. So, if you can’t commit to every week, but can do one or two times a month, we would love to have you!

If you want to come to Elevation and simply observe before making a decision, you are welcome to do that!

If you have any questions and/or if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Pastor Paul: [email protected]. Thank you!

Financial Update: As of August 31, 2022

There was a deficit of ($2K) in August which was much better than expected. Income was much higher than expected due to the receipt of a member’s entire annual giving in August.

Monthly income has declined approximately 25% since the first quarter. YTD, we have an overall cash deficit of ($118,000). We are expecting a $30-40K deficit in September, which will reduce our operating cash even further. Most of the expenses of the church are salaries and fixed costs, so
