DUMC is hosting a TED Talk–style event featuring three speakers, followed by space for conversation and reflection. Our first theme is mental health and emotions. We’re looking for speakers who can share insight, lived experience, or inspiring ideas on topics like emotional awareness, resilience, vulnerability, healing, and emotional well-being in everyday life.

If you or someone you know would be a great fit, please fill out the survey to recommend a speaker.

Inside Out: Becoming the Disciple God Calls You to Be

Saturday, February 21

9:30 am - 2:30 pm, Worship Center

One of the greatest gifts of being your pastor is that I don’t walk this journey of faith alone. I am still learning, still growing, still being shaped by God—just as you are. And I believe that when we intentionally grow together, the Spirit does something especially powerful among us.

Financial Report for the Ten Months Ended December 31, 2025

Submitted by: Allen Mason (Finance Chairperson) and Karen Sablyak (Treasurer)

Income: Income for December was $88K plus another $100K of special giving. YTD, we are behind budget by ($361K), partially offset by special giving YTD of $120K.

Disbursements: December disbursements were as expected. YTD, our disbursements are still $27K less than budget since staffing costs have remained under budget by $42K for the year. We are ever so grateful to our leadership, staff, and volunteers for a job well done in monitoring costs!

Net Cash (Deficit): We had positive cash flow in December of $96K as a result of the unexpected special giving. YTD, there is a negative cash flow of ($214K).

Please remain faithful in your financial commitment to DUMC so we may continue the programs that we believe are vital to DUMC and God’s plan. AMEN!

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” - Phillipians 4:19

FEATURE ARTICLES

Lay Leader Insights:

LET THEM

There is a book that was on the New York Times bestseller list for all of 2025, titled "Let Them" by Mel Robbins. The Let Them Theory, she says, is the key to happiness, success, and love. The problem is the power we give to others. We want them to like us, admire our choices, and agree with our opinions. This theory teaches us how to stop wasting energy on what we can't control and start focusing on what we can control: OURSELVES.

DISCOVERY SERVICE PROJECTS

Discovery Service Projects (DSP) is composed of volunteers from many faiths who work along with local people in developing countries and in the US. We strive to build relationships with respected local leaders who know the specific needs of their community. We’ve built churches, clinics, community buildings, schools, and homes. Life has been enriched for individuals, families, and communities everywhere our volunteers have worked, but make no mistake, the lives of the volunteers are enriched much, much more by the people we meet and the cultures we share.

2026 Youth Hoagie Sale - Thank you!

The youth completed their Super Bowl Hoagie Fundraiser this past Sunday at DUMC! About 30 volunteers — youth, parents, and a great group of vegetable choppers — assembled 454 hoagies in just two hours, raising around $2,600 for the 2026 summer mission trip to Belle, West Virginia. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success!

We are still collecting donations for the Youth Travel Fund to cover gas, food, van rentals, and emergency needs. Half of the fund has already been donated — thank you to those who gave so generously! Contributions can be made via cash, check, Venmo, or Subsplash (please note “Youth Travel Fund” in the memo).

Blessings,
