Summer Family Worship "Room to Move"
During the summer, we encourage families to worship together at each of our services. Our Sunday School volunteers and Nursery workers are taking a well-deserved break. In both the Sanctuary and Worship Center, we provide crayons, coloring books, and activity bags for children. There are also quiet worship spaces in both the back of the Sanctuary and the Upper Room (room in back of balcony in the Worship Center) where families can sit while children play.
Everyone is welcome at DUMC — especially during the summer!

(Volunteers Needed (Adults & Youth)—Sign up ONLINE or FORMS are available in the Lobby)
The Peach Festival is coming on Saturday, August 23. There will be a pancake breakfast on Sunday, July 27 (this is a great time to bring your used books and flea market items). Flea market and book sales will begin on *Wednesday, July 30.
In addition to books and flea market items, please consider plants and silent auction items. Please start saving cuttings and bulbs to be dropped off on Friday, August 22. If you have something you think is too nice for the flea market, consider donating it to the silent auction.

Financial Report for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2025
Submitted by: Allen Mason (Finance Chairperson) and Karen Sablyak (Treasurer)
| | |
Income: Income for June was a very disappointing $44K, the lowest month of the year. YTD we are behind budget by $181K. Please continue your regular giving as we endure low giving during the summer/vacation months. Thank you!
Disbursements: June disbursements are slightly less than prior months; we continue to pay for both Realm & Subsplash monthly while we complete the transition which is an extra $500/mo. However, our disbursements YTD are still nearly $10K less than budget since staffing costs & trustee expenses have remained under budget – REJOICE!
Net Cash (Deficit): We had negative cash flow in June of ($43K) and ($160K) YTD.
There are many on-going activities at DUMC. We remain committed to our programs and the generosity of our members to cover our deficits and remain faithful to God’s mission for DUMC. AMEN!
“God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.” —Psalm 48:14

Lay Leader Insights:
PEACE IN RELATIONSHIPS
Each morning I read a Devotion in an App “First 15” that is sent to my email at 4am, so it is near the beginning of my email list. This helps me start my day focusing on God instead of my to-do list or whatever crisis is on the News. Recently, I was troubled by the discord in a family I knew. Then I read this in my morning devotional:

July Mission of the Month:
THE SYNERGY PROJECT
| | | |
July’s mission is The Synergy Project. Synergy is a street outreach program of Valley Youth House. They work with youth ages 24 and below. Synergy works directly on the street with homeless youth living in cars, on the street, couch surfing, or nomadically traveling the country via freight train. Some are runaways, while others may have been or still are trafficked.

DUMC Community Dinner
Wednesday, July 30, 6:00 pm
(Last Wednesday of each month)
DUMC will be hosting Community Potluck Dinners on the last Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. This will be a similar format to the Lenten Soup Suppers. However, the meal and theme will change monthly.
A SignUpGenius will be sent out prior to each meal, detailing what the meal is and what food will be needed. There will also be a signup sheet in the lobby. If you can contribute in any way, please sign up for July HERE.
If you have any questions or want to be on the planning committee, please reach out to Cindy Biehl.
We are looking forward to a fun event full of food and fellowship.
Hope to see you there!

Volunteer Opportunity - Thrift Stores
Helping out at a thrift store is an easy place to start volunteering. You may have to apply, but there are no specials skills required, and the schedule can be flexible. I volunteered for a few hours, and they put me to work putting price tags on clothing that had already been sorted into baskets by price. I also helped put the stuff I tagged out on the racks in the store.
There are several thrift stores in our area that raise funds to support organizations DUMC is or has been involved with:
In Full Swing, Doylestown – A Women’s Place
Worthwhile Wear, Plumsteadville & Horsham – The Well, Human Trafficking
Good Stuff Thrift, Doylestown – Charities for Kids
Nova Thrift, Perkasie – Victims of Crime
Best Regards,
Randy Hume

Do you have an hour or two to help? ---
We have been “Feeding the Sheep” even more than we ever were before.
A few opportunities have come directly to us, and we have been using these donations to feed our local community. Let me illustrate them, and perhaps you can find an hour or two to get involved. Click here to read more....

Summer Hospitality Update
During the summer months, we'd like to give our regulars a break, but we will continue to have coffee and tea available each Sunday, as well as cool refreshments. This more relaxed time of year would be a great time for you to try this rewarding ministry. This is not at all difficult and we’re happy to train you! See our SignUpGenius or contact Cindy Betancourt in the church office.
