Summer Family Worship "Room to Move"
During the summer, we encourage families to worship together at each of our services. Our Sunday School volunteers and Nursery workers are taking a well-deserved break. In both the Sanctuary and Worship Center, we provide crayons, coloring books, and activity bags for children. There are also quiet worship spaces in both the back of the Sanctuary and the Upper Room (room in back of balcony in the Worship Center) where families can sit while children play.
Everyone is welcome at DUMC — especially during the summer!

Save the Date – Save Your Stuff!
The Peach Festival is coming on Saturday, August 23. There will be a pancake breakfast on Sunday, July 27 (this is a great time to bring your used books and flea market items). Flea market and book sales will begin on Wednesday, July 30.
In addition to books and flea market items, please consider plants and silent auction items. Please start saving cuttings and bulbs to be dropped off on Friday, August 22. Lay Leader Insights:
BE THE HOPE PEOPLE NEED TO SEE
Everybody you see this week has a hidden hurt. And everyone you meet this week needs a massive dose of hope. When you share hope, you’ll find a willing audience.
The hope that helps most is the hope from someone who says, “Been there, done that.” That’s how God wants to use you. He wants you to be a hope dispenser by sharing your experiences and what God has done for you.

July Mission of the Month:
THE SYNERGY PROJECT
| | |
July’s mission is The Synergy Project. Synergy is a street outreach program of Valley Youth House. They work with youth ages 24 and below. Synergy works directly on the street with homeless youth living in cars, on the street, couch surfing, or nomadically traveling the country via freight train. Some are runaways, while others may have been or still are trafficked.

Feed My Sheep Opportunites
Do you have an hour or two to help? ---
We have been “Feeding the Sheep” even more than we ever were before.
A few opportunities have come directly to us, and we have been using these donations to feed our local community. Let me illustrate them and perhaps you can find an hour or two to get involved. Click here to read more....

Volunteer Opportunity
Caring For Friends is an active group in DUMC who meets once per month to cook and package individual meals into trays for freezing. The meals are then taken to the main Philadelphia Caring For Friends facility for distribution. The Philadelphia location also has an industrial kitchen to prepare lots of meals. The kitchen is going to be shut down for renovations over the summer, so we have been asked to increase our output to help offset that kitchen.
There are three ways you can volunteer:
1. Participate in the monthly food preparation and packing event (3rd Wednesday of each month).
2. Take trays home, prepare, and pack individuals meals, and then bring them to the church.
3. Be a driver to either pick up excess food from local businesses, or deliver the prepared frozen meals to the Philadelphia central location.
If you want to volunteer, please contact Cindy Biehl.
Best Regards,
Randy Hume

Summer Hospitality Update
During the summer months, we'd like to give our regulars a break, but we will continue to have coffee and tea available each Sunday, as well as cool refreshments. This more relaxed time of year would be a great time for you to try this rewarding ministry. This is not at all difficult and we’re happy to train you! 2025 Youth Mission Trip - Thank You!
This past week, DUMC Youth traveled to Pittsburgh for our 2025 Mission Trip! Our teams partnered with Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, and the Allegheny Association of Churches to serve the local community. Through these partnerships, our students experienced what it means to lead like Jesus—serving others with compassion, humility, and heart.
In addition to the incredible service opportunities, we had a chance to explore the city together. One evening was filled with fun and fellowship as we enjoyed a boat tour of Pittsburgh, rode the historic incline, had dinner at Primanti Brothers, and—of course—ended the night with ice cream.
We’re so proud of the way our youth embodied the hands and feet of Jesus this week. They served faithfully, grew spiritually, and supported one another every step of the way.
We can’t wait to see how God continues to work in and through them as they grow in faith and live out their calling to love and serve others.
Oh—and did we mention? We ended the week with a win! Our group was awarded the Golden Plunger, a fun prize given to the team that goes above and beyond in helping the hospitality staff. Way to go, DUMC Youth!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this trip through prayer and financial gifts. Your generosity made this impactful week possible.
A special shoutout to our incredible adult leaders who gave their time and energy to serve alongside our youth. I’m so thankful for each of you and the way you invest in the next generation!
Blessings,
Lenae
