Congregational Covenant Meeting
Saturday, June 7
10:00 am
Worship Center
Pastor Sunil Balasundaram invites all members and worshipers of Doylestown UMC to participate in the second of the two conversations that leads to the forming of a Covenant document that answers the question: How will we be Christlike in the way we relate with those of the LGBTQ+ community? Indeed, how will we relate to any person that before now was treated different to us. This is the second of the two conversations - we will actually be working on the Covenant document together. The facilitators have given some helpful examples. If you couldn't come to the first, please stop in at the office or email me (pastorsunil@doylestownumc.com) for material that will be helpful. This process is being facilitated by Rev Gina Yeske (GNJ Conference) and Rev Lloyd Speer (EPA Conference). Conversation # 2: Saturday, June 7 at 10AM at the Overholt Hall, Doylestown UMC. Please click the image to view Pastor Suni's UPDATED video.

DUMC is Our Home
We are blessed to have a beautiful church home and a vibrant community of faith! Let’s work together to keep our space looking its best.
- If you notice trash inside or outside the building, please take a moment to dispose of it.
- If you see a stain on a pew, carpet, or floor, contact the church office.
- Please empty and clean coffee containers and dishes after you use them.
- If you place anything in a refrigerator or freezer, label it with your name, date, and purpose—and remember to discard it when you're finished. (We’ve had to play detective with smelly leftovers!)😊
- If you notice a repair that needs attention, let the church office know. (We have forms available for maintenance or repair requests.)
- If you use a room and move things around, please return it to its original setup when you are done.
Thank you! When we all pitch in, we help ensure a warm welcome and a great first impression for everyone who visits our church home.

Lay Leader Insights:
FEET FIRMLY PLANTED
Messages from God often arrive in the strangest packages. This week, the message came wrapped in a fortune cookie: "When both feet are planted firmly, nothing can shake you." This immediately reminded me of Psalm 26:12, which says, "My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord."

June Mission of the Month:
IMMIGRANT RIGHTS ACTION
| | |
Think of how frightened someone must be to leave their home. They pack a few belongings for the arduous journey, often with children in tow, hoping a relative will take them in. A long journey begins from Afghanistan, Ukraine, or Central or South America, often involving many stops in unfamiliar areas.
These are the exiles of today—people forced from their homes by war, famine, unstable governments, and the hope for a better life. We are called by Jesus to welcome the stranger and give aid to those in need—without judgment, just as He did. This is not a border issue or a political stance—it’s about helping those in need.

Volunteer Opportunity (New)
DUMC has supported Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement (BCICRR) for a couple years, and they have successfully transitioned two families to be pretty independent. They recently sent this update:
We have been blessed for the last month to have welcomed an amazing family from Afghanistan. They spent the last three years in Poland and Germany waiting to get their visas and arrived here in March. The husband and wife are both award-winning journalists and very eager to start their new life here. They have an adorable 4-year-old son. Here comes the ask.....we were just able to get the little boy a place in a local pre-school for free. He would then transition to their summer camp program before starting public preschool in the fall. Mom and Dad are working on getting their driver’s licenses—Dad is very close, but Mom is just beginning to learn.
We are also looking for volunteers who might be willing to take the parents (separately) to practice driving. I should note that all volunteers need to obtain child abuse and FBI clearances, but it's an easy process and we can help with that. If you are able to help, please contact: Laura Marshall LCSW at (267) 218-6227 or visit https://www.bcicrr.org/
Best Regards,
Randy Hume

DUMC Community Potluck Dinners
Wednesday, June 25, 6:00 pm
(Last Wednesday of each month)
DUMC will be hosting Community Potluck Dinners on the last Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, beginning on June 25. This will be a similar format to the Lenten Soup Suppers. However, the meal and theme will change monthly.
A SignUpGenius will be sent out prior to each meal, detailing what the meal is and what food will be needed. There will also be a signup sheet in the lobby. If you can contribute in any way, please sign up for June HERE.
Our first meal will be a patriotic summer BBQ consisting of hotdogs, hamburgers, salads, baked beans.......and DESSERT!
If you have any questions or want to be on the planning committee, please reach out to Cindy Biehl.
We are looking forward to a fun event full of food and fellowship.
Hope to see you there!
