Financial Report for the Two Months Ended February 28
Submitted by Peter Van Dine, Finance Chairperson,
and Karen Sablyak, Treasurer
| |
Prayer: We believe in the goodness and generosity of our Lord that He will provide and guide our leadership and congregation. In this season of Lent, we thank you, Lord God Almighty, for your guidance and enduring love and for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We reaffirm our faith during these difficult financial trials and pray for those also struggling in the world. Write on each of our hearts your desires for giving to YOU, our Lord and Savior, so that DUMC can continue to do YOUR work.
Giving: Giving for the first two months of the year is ($28K) less than budget. However, we received a generous special giving of $31.5K…..Hallelujah!
Expenses: Overall, expenses are $3.5K less than budget.
Operating Cash: We finished the first two months with a slight surplus of $7K – this is God’s amazing hand at work!
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all thine increase.” Proverbs 3:9.

Elevation
Sunday, March 19

We will also be playing an interactive group game, eating food, watching our always hilarious Stupid Video of the Week, and having small group discussions.
Hope to see you there!

Lay Leader Insights:
Plot Twist!
Life is full of twists and turns never seeming to follow a straight path. When I became a Christian, I assumed that God would straighten out the twists and turns, but I soon learned God is there to soften the twists and turns, not eliminate them completely. Life will be going along and suddenly something changes. I’ve learned to say “plot twist!“ and look to God to see what else is coming. This helps me maintain a sense of humor.
