Question of the Week
Copy of Copy of Question of the Week.jpg
One quick question....
Once a week....
Some for helpful information....
Some "just for fun"....
We'd like to know what you're thinking! Some questions may be intended to elicit helpful information. Other questions may be just for fun. We hope you'll participate! We'll tell you how it turned out next week.

We’ve recently reorganized Connections in an attempt to make the email shorter and give you links to read more about the things you are interested in.
What do you think of the new format?
I like it!
I don’t like following links. I’d prefer more full articles.
Doesn’t really matter to me.
Results of last week's "QOTW"
Thanks to those who participated in our "Question of the Week" last week!
Are you, or someone you know, caring for a loved one due to aging, mental health, medical or other disabling condition? Our Caregivers’ Support Group may be for you! Currently we meet at 2:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month. If you are interested...what time would work best in your schedule?

What we learned: About Our Gifts
by Randy Hume
Last Saturday's Activate training was both interesting and enlightening with about 30 people in attendance.

Sounds of Faith kicked off our morning with three lively and worshipful songs. Rev. Sonji Pass from TMS Global taught us many things about missional outreach. You will hear more details and plans in the future. I ask you to be patient – this might be a long, but purposeful process.
Lay Leader Insights:
You Are Not Alone

by Laurie Lewis, RN, Minister of Visitation,
Lay Leader
Loneliness is a problem in our society. There are two types: living alone and feeling alone. Some people who live alone still have good social connections, but some are completely isolated. Some people can live with a family or in a group setting but have no significant social connections.
Kingdom Growth:
Cooperation Fund
Each month, DUMC provides its apportionment share to the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, and a portion of our contribution is used to support the Interdenominational Cooperation Fund.
May Mission of the Month
Hope International is a faith-based nonprofit organization that alleviates the many dimensions of poverty by providing microenterprise development services, biblically-based business training, savings services and small loans (micro-loans) in the poorest, least served countries of our world. The microloans that HOPE provides help people realize their own dreams toward self sufficiency by having the seed capital they need to start their own businesses. CLICK HERE to read more

Feed My Starving Children
is partnering with TheWACOneProject to do a meal packing project at Del Val on May 20 and 21.

Their goal is to pack 170,000 meals for Ukraine. They are working with DUMC’s Kevin McPoyle to help organize this event in which they hope to bring people together from across the various Doylestown churches.

In response to the overwhelming food shortages around the world due to the war in Ukraine, this event is now listed as a Crisis Event!
Graduation is a significant life achievement, and we would like to acknowledge the hard work of all DUMC graduates in an upcoming issue of Connections.
Whether high school, tech school, college, or grad school, please send us information about the graduates in your family who are part of DUMC!
Life Transitions
We rejoice with Mike Mosinak and Laura Siegel, who were married at DUMC on Friday, April 29.

Laura serves as our Assistant Director of Children's Ministries.

We wish them God's richest blessings!
Isabel Streeper
April 27, 1929 - April 28, 2022

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 11:00 am, at Reed & Steinbach on Lower State Road.

Please remember Isabel's family and friends in your prayers.
DUMC extends a sincere "thanks" to Kristi Bryan, who has served as DUMC's Wedding Coordinator for many years. Kristy's gentle guidance and thoughtful gestures have been deeply appreciated by many couples as they prepare for, and experience, their wedding day.
We are pleased to announce that Brianna Beale has agreed to serve as our new Wedding Coordinator. Brianna is excited to assume this role and work with couples as they anticipate such an important live event and commitment.
