Youth Spaghetti Dinner Thank You!
The Youth Spaghetti Dinner for the 2025 Mission Trip was a huge success! A big thank you to those who donated food and supplies, those who came out to enjoy the spaghetti dinner this past Sunday night, or those who gave donations. We appreciate the way everyone showed up for the youth. They were happy to meet new people and see familiar faces. Thank you to all of the adults and youth who helped make the dinner a success. Sunday evening was a great show of teamwork, loving dedication, and enthusiasm. Around 130 people in total joined us for dinner, with about 30 youth/parent volunteers working behind the scenes. We made around $2000 in profits. Thank you for being such a supportive church and community.
Blessings,
Lenae

Lay Leader Insights:
RESILIENCE
As Christians, God has given us a spirit of resilience. This is defined as elasticity, flexibility, the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties. Our path is not always smooth or predictable. We can suffer the slings and arrows of an unfair world. Here is our secret weapon - we have God-given armor to deflect an enemy's barbs.

Harvest Home Sunday 2024
Sunday, November 17
Harvest time was important throughout Pennsylvania in the 19th and 20th centuries and Harvest Home services were a regular part of the church calendar. These services were an expression of gratitude to God after months of hard work planting and cultivating the fertile soils. Written accounts from Lutheran and Reformed congregations describe harvest services as early as the 1830's (Forrest Moyer, 2019). We shall celebrate Harvest Home Sunday on November 17 this year. Your generous food donations will be split between 3 local food banks: Jesus Focus Ministry Food Pantry at Bethanna, Bucks County Housing Group Doylestown, and New Britain Food Pantry.
Suggested foods include:
-Fresh Produce: Apples, carrots, celery, cranberries, onions, potatoes, squash and sweet potatoes.
-Nonperishables: Boxed corn bread mix, boxed pie crust mix, cake mix/frosting, canned corn, canned green beans, canned pumpkin, canned pumpkin pie filling, canned broth, canned yams, canned cranberry sauce, gravy, boxed potato flakes, and boxed stuffing mix.
Kindly leave your food offerings on the table in the Lobby.
Many thanks from the Outreach Committee-

This is all at no charge to the residents.
DUMC will once again partner with Wrapping Presence to bring the joy of the holidays to Liberty Pointe nursing/rehabilitation facility in Doylestown.
I would like to extend an invitation to everyone to join us in this wonderful mission.
Volunteer opportunities with Wrapping Presence are:

BIBLE STUDIES & SMALL GROUPS | |
Reflections
Women’s Bible Study
Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 pm, Room 2
"When You Pray" by Minter, Hill-Perry, Wilkin, Rothschild, Edwards, McLelland
((New Study November 5), 24/25 Schedule
Our next study, “When You Pray,” by various Lifeway Women authors, is a study of different prayers of the Bible. It is a 7-week study (no meeting on 11/26), but we will cover the first 5 weeks before Christmas, and maybe do the last two weeks later in the spring. The first week is an intro to the series, then this study is a little different in that we do the five days of individual study/homework before viewing the author’s video. Here is a promo video.
The study guide is available at most retailers and includes free access to the videos (if you miss a session or want to watch it again). Please see the attached sample of the study guide, which has the first 46 pages.
Women of all ages meet weekly to enjoy social time together, small group discussion, spiritual growth, Bible study (many of us are new to the Bible), and prayer support.
Bring a friend, all women and newcomers are always welcome!
RSVP by emailing Laura Herbst.
