Giving Tuesday
Tuesday, December 2
Enhancing our future through our Youth and Children's Programs
Giving Tuesday is a special day designated to remind everyone to stop, appreciate, and give thanks during the holiday season. While you may direct your gift to any area at Doylestown United Methodist Church that interests you, we are asking everyone to help support our Youth and Children’s programs to help strengthen the future of our church community.
I hope you will join me in making a special gift to support these essential programs for our young church members.
Click to give on SUBSPLASH or VENMO.
Thank you in advance for making a vital difference in the future of our church.

Financial Report for the Ten Months Ended October 31, 2025
Submitted by: Allen Mason (Finance Chairperson) and Karen Sablyak (Treasurer)
| | |
Income: Income for October was $57K. YTD, we are behind budget by ($278K).
Disbursements: October disbursements were lower than expected. YTD, our disbursements are $35K less than budget since staffing costs & trustee expenses have remained under budget – Thank you to the leadership team for a great job!
Net Cash (Deficit): The net cash deficit for October was ($31K), contributing to a year-to-date negative cash flow of ($252K).
Please remain faithful in your financial commitment to DUMC as we remain faithful to God’s plan. AMEN!

Pastor's Corner
Have you ever wondered, “What if Christmas was ‘canceled’?” Worse still, what if – by some freak occurrence, just for our generation – Christmas never happened? There would be no Christmas dinners and gifts/presents, no Christmas shopping and songs in malls, no Christmas decorations and trees, and (gasp) no Santa Claus! Now, at the risk of being called a “Grinch” on the one hand, and super-spiritual on the other, I would imagine that it would not be catastrophic for the world if that were to be the case. Businesses would suffer (but they would find another holiday to benefit from), and household budgets (especially struggling ones) would be positively impacted. But that would also mean…no Jesus!

December Mission of the Month:
CSSH CODE BLUE
| | | |
Our mission for the month of December is the Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless (CSSH). CSSH is the nonprofit that runs Code Blue for Central Bucks. Code Blue is a program that offers overnight shelter, dinner, breakfast, and a bag lunch for the homeless in our area. The shelter is open when the temperature is below 28 degrees. Code Blue runs from December to March, with a different church hosting each month. CSSH also holds a monthly meal throughout the year for the homeless in our community. The CSSH opened the doors for 85 nights during the 2024/2025 season and provided shelter to 100 different individuals, representing a 37% increase from the previous year - this is impactful!

SNAP Benefits Assistance
If you or someone you know is on SNAP, please give them the information below. SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, formerly food stamps) has been frozen as of Saturday, November 1 due to the government shutdown. Doylestown Area FISH offers food assistance to their callers. There are about 40,000+ (6.3%) people in Bucks County who receive SNAP benefits. Given all of this, Doylestown Area FISH has pulled $10,000 from their endowment to purchase grocery gift cards to give to Bucks County residents who are in need. As of Monday, November 3, Bucks County Residents can go to the HUB (in the County Administrative building) or set up an appointment with the HELP Center (215) 949-1660 to receive cards. If individuals are unable to get to the HUB during business hours, they can call the Doylestown Area FISH at (215) 348-7172 and they will determine ways to get them assistance.
For those able to help, donations can be made through Doylestown Area FISH website, via PayPal, or mailed to Doylestown Area FISH, P.O. Box#196, Doylestown, PA 18901.

Harvest Home Sunday -Thank you!
To our DUMC family and friends, thank you for your very generous response to the Harvest Home Sunday appeal to support our community! 30 boxes (about 800 pounds) of food were collected for these food pantries: New Britain Food Pantry, Jesus Focus Ministry and Doylestown Food Pantry. What makes Harvest Home Sunday special is the offering of fresh produce along with nonperishable items. Additionally, the Missions Committee was able to provide gift cards to add to the food donations.
Many thanks, again, from the Missions Committee, for your great willingness to lend a hand to those in need.
