Dear Friends:
FCA is located in San Francisco and provides direct services to caregivers in the San Francisco Bay Area. We also have extensive resources for those living in other areas of the country. FCA’s Services by State tool can help caregivers locate local public, nonprofit, and private programs and services. Resources include government health and disability programs, legal resources, disease-specific organizations, and more. Caregiving is challenging, so we hope you will take advantage of the available resources offering help.
Sincerely,
Calvin Hu

I Took Care Of My Mother Until She Died At 100 And Was Burned Out. I Expected To Feel Free, But I Don't.
For many family caregivers, there is the expectation that once caregiving ends, everything will return to normal. Life will resemble what it was before taking on caregiving responsibilities. In an essay for Business Insider, Lorraine Duffy Merkl shares her caregiving journey, and highlights how difficult it has been for her to transition back to her old self, before she provided care.
