Youth Day
2018 Youth Day LA
It is that time again....Youth Day for the Freshman Class! Every year around February/March the Freshman Class at Connelly traditionally goes to Youth Day at the Anaheim Convention Center. This year it is on Thursday, March 15.

What is Youth Day?
Youth Day is held annually on the Thursday of the Religious Education Congress weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center. It is a day just for youth from many different backgrounds throughout the Archdiocese - and beyond - to participate in a Rally, Liturgy and Workshops focused just for them.

We take our freshmen EARLY on the bus because there is a lot of walking to get to the arena and it starts right on time. The main arena fills up extremely fast and we want our students to get the full benefit of viewing all of the events. It is a very fun day and it is so exciting to experience Mass with thousands and thousands of other teens from all across the world. Mrs. Townsend will have three other faculty members helping her chaperone all of your students. Your freshman student has a Behavioral Guideline that needs to be signed by a parent/guardian that was given to her during Religion Class. Please get that from her, sign it, and return it to Ms. Leslee ASAP.

All of the other  information you need is on the attached flyer. This is going to be a very fun, memorable event!

Youth Day Parent Letter
Introducing the Cornelia Emergency Prayer Fund
praying hands
Mother Connelly prays that we have "a love full of action."  We have all learned that to be part of this exceptional community is a true blessing. There are times in the lives of our students that a significant family emergency has  profound effects on their school day. We would  like to create a group of prayer and funding angels to cover those expenses that may come for a family in great need. If you would like to join this prayer fund, please email Cheri Wood, the Head of School directly with your contact email. This is how it will work if you choose to join.

When we have a need, Mrs. Wood will launch an email for prayers and donations. These donations would only be to cover extra expenses for our girls like sport fees, uniform needs, retreats, lunches, graduation expenses & dresses, books, and other extra-curricular expenses for activities that enhance the life of our girls. She will keep the name of those in need confidential, but let the Cornelia Emergency Prayer Fund members know that prayers are needed for a family in this community, and the exact monetary amount needed to help that student. Prayer Fund members may choose each time whether or not it is a good time for them to give, and how much they may have at that time to give.

If you would like to receive these emails, please let Cheri Wood know via email. It will be wonderful to have a way to help our own in times of great need and crisis. Thank you for your consideration.

Blessings,
Cheri L. Wood
