Explore the Wild Side Art Show - Virtually!

Join us as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Catalina: The Wild Side! This unique plein air show features works from 10 talented artists who capture incredible scenes of Catalina, from Avalon to Two Harbors and everything in between. En plein air works are traditionally painted on-site capturing the movement, life and light of the Island.

For the first time, we will be presenting this exquisite collection in a completely virtual format. Participation is free for the online exhibition, which opens on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM PT. Special VIP access options for early buying of paintings is also available. Proceeds from VIP access options and painting sales benefit the conservation, education and recreation programs of the Catalina Island Conservancy. Bat Detection Researchers have looked at bats on Catalina Island since the 1970s and, for the first time, have detected the presence of a red bat species. In May, the Conservancy installed two acoustic bat monitoring stations thanks to a grant from the Donald Slavik Family Foundation. Free Junior Naturalist Training Enrollment is now open for the Catalina Junior Naturalist Program! Learners ages 8-15 will learn about the geologic and natural history of Catalina Island and its unique plants and animals, as well as how to respectfully explore nature, through a series of videos, readings and engaging activities.
