Dust off your tuxedos and ballgowns! The 26th Annual Catalina Island Conservancy Ball is planned to be back in-person at the historic Avalon Casino Ballroom on Catalina, Saturday, April 23. We are excited to celebrate together as we kick-off the 50th anniversary of the Catalina Island Conservancy in style with “A Groovy View Since ’72.”

Did you know that there are 12 Desert Research Institute weather stations on Catalina? Data collected from these stations are shared with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to improve weather predictions for the Island and broader region. This season, there has been more than seven inches of rain on Catalina, right on track with our average rainfall. It's a great - and green - time to visit! Visit the Catalina Island climate stations.

We are excited to welcome our first Interpretive Volunteer at Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden. Gayle, who has been volunteering with us since 2016, will be sharing her love for and knowledge of the Island with Garden visitors about six days per month. Approximately more than 100 visitors have visited her learning station so far and come away with new information about plants, foxes, bison and more! If you are interested in volunteering and sharing your knowledge of Catalina Island at the Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden please sign up for Naturalist 1 training or email [email protected]. Volunteer with us!
