Flagging Sites of Universal Value
An Iranian architect and artist has proposed a conceptual initiative to highlight the risks faced by World Heritage sites in Iran. The project would underscore the signifiance of these irreplaceable landscapes in a time of heightened world conflict. As it turns out, it is not a completely new idea.

Capacity Building on Nature-Culture Linkages: The experience of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Tsukuba, Japa n.

Learn more about a series of capacity building workshops held between 2016 and 2019. Attendees were encouraged to explore linkages between nature and culture in a week of field visits. Topics covered included: agricultural landscapes (2016), sacred landscapes (2017), disasters and resilience (2018), and mixed cultural and natural sites (2019).
