I pray you had a great Thanksgiving with friends and family, and that your day was filled good food, plenty of laughter, and full of love. We, as conservatives, have so much to be grateful for this year. President Trump had the hands of God covering him during the 2 assassination attempts, the unfair law-fair cases are being dropped, and he won a historic election. Please keep praying that God keeps protecting Trump, his family, and his nominees. I am sure they are not out of danger.

It is amazing what this group has done, and the impact we have made, in such a short time. The Conservatives of Lake Frederick have become a force to be reckoned with in Frederick County. We want to keep the momentum going, as well as grow COLF.

Since our inception earlier this year, we have grown to 234 members. Our goal is to keep growing! Please share our groups message, activities, and website with other like-minded people.

We are considering formalizing the Conservatives of Lake Frederick into a club. Several things need to happen before we can move forward. The first, we have to ascertain if there is continued interest in our members. The second is bylaws have to be adopted.

Our discussions have included whether to set annual dues as a membership requirement. This would allow us to pay for a venue so we can have a consistent meeting place and time, provide funds towards elections, supplies for meetings, and to support candidates running for office.

To that end, I have included a survey below that I am requesting be completed by you so we know how to proceed.

I appreciate your support and engagement!

Be a bold and proud

Conservative of Lake Frederick!

Would you be willing to pay a nominal amount as annual membership due to COLF?

I have reached out to Scott Pio, Loudoun County GOP Chair and Jared Gershman, of the Loudoun Get Out the Vote, to see how we can help in an important Special Election that will determine a new Delegate to the Virginia Assembly, 26th District, and a new Virginia Senator, 32nd District. Both of these Districts are in Loudoun County. Early Voting begins on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 and runs through Saturday, January 4, 2025. Election Day is January 7th, 2025.

I am asking for volunteers to make calls to constituents in the 26th and 32nd Districts to inform them of the election, the dates, and to remind them to get out to vote.

Jared will load an app similar to that used with the Trump Force 47 initiative and will give a tutorial on its use. It is very easy to use. There is a script and, most importantly, the person on the other end of the call will not see your phone number. We will only be calling Republican voters.

The Democrats in Richmond are pushing the bills HJ1, HJ2, and HJ9. I want to help in any way possible, from the Shenandoah Valley, to help gain seats in both houses that could help defeat these bills, as well as working to get our bills passed. See below

Loudoun County Republicans have selected Ram Venkatachalam as their nominee for the House District 26 seat. He will be on the ballot against the Democrat's nominee, JJ Singh.

Republican Tumay Harding and Democrat Kannan Srinivasan will be facing off in the election for the State Senate District 32nd seat.

Current Count in Virginia:

House 51(D) 49(R)

Senate 20(D) 19(R) (Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears (R) will be the tiebreaker if needed).

I would like to ask you to join forces with me in making calls to the constituents in Loudoun County's 26th and 32nd Districts. This is an easy way to truly affect Virginia politics. Most people will not be aware of this Special Election or the need to get out to vote, especially given the time of the year. Making the calls can be done at home, doesn't take too much time, and can truly help!

Please consider making calls to help get 2 more Republicans elected and sent to Richmond in 2025. The Legislative Session begins on January 8, 2025.

Constitutional Amendments that could impact Virginia if Democrats Keep Control of Both Houses

HJ1 Abortion

Summary As Introduced

Constitutional amendment (first reference); fundamental right to reproductive freedom. Provides that every individual has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom and that the right to make and effectuate one's own decisions about all matters related to one's pregnancy cannot be denied, burdened, or otherwise infringed upon by the Commonwealth, unless justified by a compelling state interest and achieved by the least restrictive means. The amendment prohibits the Commonwealth from penalizing, prosecuting, or otherwise taking adverse action against an individual for exercising the individual's right to reproductive freedom or for aiding another individual in the exercise of such right, unless justified by a compelling state interest.

HJ2 Voting Rights for convicted felons

Summary As Introduced

Constitutional amendment (first reference); qualifications of voters; right to vote; persons not entitled to vote. Provides that every person who meets the qualifications of voters set forth in the Constitution of Virginia shall have the fundamental right to vote in the Commonwealth and that such right shall not be abridged by law, except for persons who have been convicted of a felony and persons who have been adjudicated to lack the capacity to understand the act of voting. A person who has been convicted of a felony shall not be entitled to vote during any period of incarceration for such felony conviction, but upon release from incarceration for that felony conviction and without further action required of him, such person shall be invested with all political rights, including the right to vote. Currently, in order to be qualified to vote a person convicted of a felony must have his civil rights restored by the Governor or other appropriate authority. The amendment also provides that a person adjudicated by a court of competent jurisdiction as lacking the capacity to understand the act of voting shall not be entitled to vote during this period of incapacity until his capacity has been reestablished as prescribed by law. Currently, the Constitution of Virginia provides that a person who has been adjudicated to be mentally incompetent is not qualified to vote until his competency is reestablished.

Hj 9 sSame Sex Marriage

Summary As Introduced

Constitutional amendment (first reference); marriage between two individuals; repeal of same-sex marriage prohibition; affirmative right to marry. Repeals the constitutional provision defining marriage as only a union between one man and one woman as well as the related provisions that are no longer valid as a result of the United States Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, 576 U.S. 644 (2015). The amendment provides that the right to marry is a fundamental right inherent in the liberty of persons and prohibits the Commonwealth and its political subdivisions from denying the issuance of a marriage license to two parties contemplating a lawful marriage on the basis of the sex, gender, or race of such parties. The Commonwealth and its political subdivisions are required to recognize any lawful marriage between two parties and to treat such marriages equally under the law, regardless of the sex, gender, or race of such parties. The amendment provides that religious organizations and clergy acting in their religious capacity have the right to refuse to perform any marriage.
