From the Chair
Rhonda Torres
I am going to apologize now. I will be sounding like a broken record for the next few months. I believe the Virginia elections this year are more important to our welfare than the Presidential elections were in 2024. Yes, we got Trump in office like this county needed. I am relieved on that account (I'd be happier if the liberal judges would stay in their lanes).
The history for Virginia is that the Governorship goes to the opposite party. That means Virginia has a high likelihood of reverting back to complete Democratic control! That would be devastating for our state, given that the House and Senate are already controlled by them. If you've taken time to review some of the heinous bills the Dems have presented this year, you'd be appalled. A few of the bills include abortion without limits, legalization of same sex marriage, and voting privileges given automatically felons on release of prison. These bills are slated for the 2026 ballot. Youngkin has vetoed hundreds of bills, which is great. However, if Abigail Spanberger takes the Governorship, our state will be lost for at minimum, the next 4 years. I can't fathom living under the Dems trifecta control of our state.
Therefore, it is essential that you stay informed about what is happening in our state, get involved in the election process, get your friends and neighbors involved, support our candidates, and VOTE!
We can't afford to loose Virginia!!
Check out our website. I have posted all the candidates and their information for you. I am also in the process of setting up zoom calls/interviews with the candidates. As they happen, I am posting to our website and will send links periodically so you can hear what each has to say. The field may narrow in early April, when we see who obtained enough signatures to be on the Primary Ballot.
