From the Chair
Rhonda Torres
I want to thank all who signed the candidates petitions over the last few weeks. I have had many thanks from the different campaigns at our willingness to help.
I was asked by one gentleman how many signatures each candidate needed in order to get on the ballot. I learned (had to look it up) that the requirements for candidates for VA offices are as follows (I did not cover the local candidates since our precinct doesn't have any on the ballot this year):
Gov., Lt. Gov., and Att. Gen.: 10,000 (with 400 from each congressional district in the state)
VA Senate: 250
VA House of Delegates: 125
COLF provided the following:
Herrity and Curran (2 of the 3 candidates for Lt. Gov.): 70
Reid (3rd candidate for Lt. Gov.): 41. I did not get his form until after the first signature session.
Miyares for Att. Gen.: 89
Oates for VA Delegate (incumbent): 75
Sears for Gov.: 40 I did not get her form until after the first signature session.
I will be adding the candidates information and their websites on our website within the next week. Once it's loaded, I will let you know so you can start researching each candidate. I found out today that Winsome Sear will have 2 Republican contenders if they secure the needed signatures to get on the ballot.

COLF meetings/gatherings will be at the Torres' home for now. Our plan was to use the Warren Co. fire station. However, we just can't afford the monthly fee. The Bowman Library was not able to offer long range, or consistent, reservations. I understand the parking issue on Towhee, but we will make arrangements, as we have in the past for parking, and will be shared in a future email.
We have decided to have gatherings every other month, in addition to a Summer picnic and winter party. There will be Calls to Action for election activities surrounding the June Primary and the November General Election. We may squeeze a pizza luncheon in along the way!
Stay tuned!
Be a bold and proud
Conservative of Lake Frederick!
