Constancy of Change
Seasons of Blessing
When I was a young girl we moved from a house to another in an entirely different neighborhood. Those of us who were too young to help were shipped off to my older sisters' house to stay
until the entire move was completed. That evening, we were brought to that house and we were so excited. It was such a great house and my mother owned it. It was ours!
Like any change in life, there are always those moments when you long for what you had left behind. We found ourselves going back to the old neighborhood because we were familiar with the people and the landscape. Gradually, we embraced the new neighborhood and all of its nuances.
It is a natural inclination to want to go back and to hold on to that which has become familiar. If you always hold on to the familiar, how will you ever experience the fullness of blessings that God wants to shower you with? Doing the same thing the same way doesn't make a lot of sense. Yet, you find people holding on to those habits because they are afraid of the shift that is taking place in their lives.
We are in constant change. Other than God and His Word, the only thing that remains constant is change. It will always be with us. On a journey you move forward and the landscape changes. It is no different in our lives. The landscape of life is forever changing. Each moment, each day, each month, each year brings about a new landscape of opportunities, alliances, trials and triumphs.
This time of year symbolizes change in all of its grandeur. One day the lives are green on the trees; and the next day they are a spectacular array of reds, oranges, goldenrod and more. Before you know it, they are all gone. The trees are left barren. You know they can't go back to that place where they started. Trees, like us, can only keep evolving and changing with each season.
Just like when all the leaves have fallen off and winter is upon us, there are seasons that appear to be harsher than others. Know this, you will weather the storm if you don't give up. The coldness of the season may have a chilling effect, but it is only for a season. Actually, it is only for a few days.
Winter is what faith is all about. It is when the vision is given and the mandate is provided. Winter is the bedrock of conceptualization where the bud cannot be visualized. Spring is the manifestation of the new birth of winter. It is the evidence of faith hoped for. It is in the trials and tribulations of winter where we painstakingly endure to the sprouting and blossoming manifestation of spring.
Now some may say, "Why are you rushing winter and we are still in the autumn season?" I am not rushing winter, but I am encouraging you to celebrate whatever season you're in right now. Don't allow the trepidation of change to prevent you from celebrating today as you move into tomorrow. Don't be afraid to release the familiar for the unfamiliar. Nothing but God's abundant blessing awaits you.
Oh Break Out has been one of those life transforming experiences for so many. We're excited that it is on course to do the same thing again this year. In essence, Oh Break Out helps you break out of the limitations that have kept you in bondage long enough and embrace the constancy of change with strength, courage and confidence.
