Timmins Construction Association hosts another successful Home Cottage and Lifestyle Show

From Friday, May 5 to Sunday, May 7, we welcomed roughly 2,000 people to our annual Home Cottage and Lifestyle Show. With 53 vendors, locals had the opportunity to see a wide range of offerings at the McIntyre Arena.

The door prize raffle at this year's show was a 6' x 8' shed, proudly built by Timmins High & Vocational School students. Thank you to TCA members Miller Paving and Tisdale Mechanical Contracting for supporting this project. The winner of the shed was Sylvain Caron.

We would like to thank everyone who volunteered and attended the event for their support.

TCA in the Community

The Timmins Construction Association takes pride in its active involvement in Timmins, particularly in supporting student bursaries at local high schools this graduation season. We recognize the importance of giving back to the community and we allocate a portion of the proceeds from our Home Show and golf tournament for this purpose. By providing bursaries, we assist students in pursuing their educational aspirations and encourage their entry into the construction industry. This support plays a key role in shaping the lives of these students and inspiring them to excel in their chosen field. The association's efforts in promoting the next generation of construction workers contribute to a skilled workforce and the overall advancement of the industry.

Falls Awareness Week

For the 6th year, IHSA joined workplaces across Ontario to promote Falls Awareness Week (FAW). This year's FAW week took place from May 1st to May 5 2023.

In support of the event, IHSA developed a FREE Downloadable Tool Kit that includes several fall-related safety talks and other resources to stimulate workplace discussion and participation. Included are forms, checklists, articles, advisories, posters, on-demand webinars and NEW YouTube Videos on key topics related to preventing falls on construction sites - use them to prepare for your safety talk and or as to compliment a safety meeting.

We thank you for your ongoing participation in keeping Ontario's workers safe.

Our convenient downtown location provides you with a quiet out-of-office workspace in a professional environment.
