WHAT:

Crews are expected to reconstruct the northbound (NB) SR-55 Dyer Road straight on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp. During this period, an extended closure of the outside lane on NB SR-55 between Dyer Road and Warner Avenue is also planned for paving work.

WHEN:

The on-ramp is expected to close as soon as 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 10 and reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Friday, March 20. The NB SR-55 Dyer Road loop on-ramp will remain open during this time.

The outside lane is expected to close as soon as 9 p.m., Friday, March 13 and reopen by 5 a.m., Monday, March 16.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

WHAT:

Crews are expected to perform drainage activities, which will require nighttime closures of the northbound SR-55 McFadden Avenue off-ramp, Edinger Avenue on-ramp, and two outside lanes on northbound SR-55.

WHEN:

Beginning Thursday, Feb. 26 and continuing through mid-March.

Note: Nighttime closures are expected to occur every Thursday and Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for approximately three weeks. Work and associated closures may also occur on Saturday nights and Tuesday nights.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
