Upcoming Roadway Closures

Edinger Avenue

Crews are scheduled to perform electrical work at the Edinger Avenue bridge.


Edinger underneath the freeway will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 to

5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1.

MacArthur Boulevard

Crews are scheduled to perform electrical work at the MacArthur Boulevard bridge.


MacArthur underneath the freeway will be closed, as well as the northbound and southbound loop on-ramps from

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7.

Northbound MacArthur Boulevard Loop

On-Ramp Extended Closure

WHAT:

Crews will be pouring concrete to reconstruct the northbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard loop on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp.


WHEN:

The on-ramp is expected to close as early as 5 a.m., Monday, Feb. 3 and reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13.

Dyer Road Bridge Pile Driving

WHAT:

Crews are expected to begin daytime pile driving as they construct the foundation at the Dyer Road bridge. Pile driving is a common method of constructing bridge foundations where steel beams are driven into the ground until they reach a hard layer of earth beneath the foundation.


WHEN:

6 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, beginning as soon as Monday, Feb. 3, and continuing for approximately two months.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
