WHAT:

Crews are expected to reconstruct the northbound SR-55 Dyer Road loop on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp.

WHEN:

The on-ramp is expected to close as soon as 9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27 and reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp. Additional information will be provided in future communications.

As part of the SR-55 (I-405 to I-5) Improvement Project, all utilities - including gas, water, sewer and communications lines - have been relocated. This work began in 2021 and required tremendous effort and coordination between contractors and external utility companies such as Southern California Edison. Remaining utility work includes construction crews installing their own electrical services throughout the corridor.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
